Waikoloa Beach Waikoloa Beach welcomes leashed dogs on the pet-friendly south side of the bay (at Lava Lava Beach Club and the undeveloped south side portion) in Waikoloa Village, HI. However, dogs are not allowed in the main beach parking lot, and security is strict. You can either drop off your dogs at Lava Lava Beach Club with a friend to hold them while you go back and park in the main parking lot or you can park at Lava Lava Beach Club in the gravel overflow parking lot. To reach the beach, go to Spencer Beach Park heading North on Hwy 19 turn left onto Hwy 270. Continue 0.4 miles and take the first left onto Spencer Beach Park Rd. Follow the road toward the ocean and go left at the fork. Continue to the parking lot located at the South end of the beach near the campsite and picnic pavilion. You’ll find the trailhead near the picnic pavilion. Walk for about 0.3 miles and you’ll cross a small stream, continue along the trail and you’ll come to Mau’umae Beach.
