The Lake Murray Dam Walkway is a pet-friendly walking pathway across the top of the Dreher Shoals Dam along S.C. Highway 6. It's a popular place for walking and jogging. The distance is 1.7 miles each way for a total walk of 3.4 miles. The walkway offers spectacular views of Lake Murray and even the downtown Columbia skyline 11 miles away. With winding paths, benches and flowering bushes, this seven-acre park has become a popular place to spend an afternoon. Palmetto Outdoors is pet-friendly. They offer tubing rentals for dogs and their owners on the Congaree River in Columbia, SC. The tubing trips take around 3 to 3.5 hours and cover 2 miles, which can vary depending on the water levels and weather. Dogs are only allowed on the Deluxe Tubing Package. They also offer kayaks and other rentals. The fee for tubing is $25 for a dog or a human. Palmetto is open Sunday through Friday from 12pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 7pm.
