Pet Friendly Tomales Bay State Park
Tomales Bay State Park The Vista Point picnic area at Tomales Bay State Park is dog-friendly. Dogs must be on a leash during their visit to the scenic picnic area. They are not allowed to stay alone in a vehicle, and they are not allowed on beaches or trails in the Park, including the trail from the picnic area. The Park asks that those planning a group outing make sure every member of their group is aware of the dog policy. Tomales Bay State Park is open from 8am to sunset. There is an $8 per vehicle entrance fee required for parking at Vista Point. See Details
Pet Friendly Point Reyes National Seashore
Point Reyes National Seashore Point Reyes National Seashore's shoreline spans 19 miles with several dog friendly areas including Limantour and Kehoe Beach. If you bring a dog, or any other pet, to the park, please observe the park's rules of having Fido a leash no longer than six feet at all times. Pets are allowed in the Bear Valley Visitor Center parking lot and picnic area. Pets are not permitted in public buildings, on public transportation vehicles, or in locations designated as a swimming beach, or within any structure or area closed to the possession of pets by the superintendent. All trails within the park are closed to pets—with the exception of Kehoe Beach trail and designated trails in the neighboring Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Pets are also permitted on the trails and roads within the Niman Ranch/Commonweal area south of the Commonweal entrance road and west of Mesa road. Pets are allowed on the following ocean-facing beaches throughout the year: Kehoe Beach - north of the Kehoe Beach trail; Limantour Beach - southeast of the parking lot to the beach adjacent to Coast Camp; Point Reyes/Great Beach - from the North Beach parking lot south to the historic Navy installation/lifeboat station located approximately one mile south of the South Beach parking lot. Samuel P. Taylor State Park Dogs are welcome at certain areas of Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Cross Marin Trail bike path is the only dog-friendly trail at this state park. It runs along Lagunitas Creek about three miles through the park, following the old North Pacific Coast Railroad right-of-way into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. You can also camp among the redwoods at some of the campgrounds in the area. Samuel P. Taylor State Park is open every day of the week from 8am to sunset. See Details
