Russell Farms Community Park Dogs are welcome in this 5-acre park as long as they are kept on-leash. The park is designed to be a haven for nature lovers and dogs will definitely enjoy the walking trails on-site. Trails are red gravel. The Eagle Rock Reservation is over 400 acres along the Watchung Mountains ridge line located between West Orange, Montclair and Verona. The 40 mile Lenape Trail skirts the eastern edge of the park. The hiking trails and footpaths that crisscross the woodland areas of the park are friendly for hikers of all ages and abilities. The name actually comes from the Delaware word for upland. At this park, you and Fido will discover open fields, saltwater and freshwater marshes, a white cedar swamp, Pine Barrens, and a northeastern hardwood forest. There's also a beach, but dogs are not permitted on it. Family campsites #23-27 and #37-40 are pet-friendly, so you and your pooch can stay for a little longer.
