Nansen Ski Jump State Historic Site Nansen Ski Jump State Historic Site, also known as the Sleeping Giant, in Milan, NH, is pet-friendly. Constructed between 1936-38, this used to be one of the foremost ski jumps in the whole country. Skiers would race down the hill at high speeds and fling themselves from the jump. The ski jump has a 171-foot steel frame tower and supports a 310-foot runway. You won't see anybody going down the jump these days, as it's been out of use since 1988, but you can still explore the area with your pooch and imagine the competitions that have gone on here in the past.
