Pet Friendly Historic Lake Scott State Park
Historic Lake Scott State Park Historic Lake Scott State Park in Scott City, KS is dog-friendly. This 1,280-acre park surrounds a stunning spring-fed lake that is popular among anglers and recreational boat users. The park itself is one of the most historic locations in Kansas, with more than 26 archeological sites in and around the area. The remains of the northernmost known Native American pueblo, El Cuartelejo, are found here, as well as the Steele home, the dwelling of the original settlers on the area, preserved as it was 100 years ago. If you have spare time after visiting the park, you can wander about 1 mile south of the park to Battle Canyon, the location of the last Native American battle in Kansas.
