Poverty Point Reservoir State Park Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA is pet friendly. The centerpiece of this park is the 2,700-acre, man-made lake that is hugely popular among recreational boat users and anglers alike. You and Fido can check out the nature trail that winds along a section of Bayou Macon. Due to the wildlife in the area and other trail users, pet owners are reminded to keep their dog on a leash for the duration of their visit. See Details
Pet Friendly Bayou Segnette State Park
Bayou Segnette State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners at Bayou Segnette State Park in Westago, just down the road from the urban sprawl of New Orleans, LA. There's a nearly three mile long pet-friendly nature trail that weaves around the park. While you're getting your steps in, you and Fido may come across a variety of different wildlife species on the ground and in the air, including American alligators, nine-banded armadillos, raccoons, bald eagles, and northern cardinals. Dogs must be leashed and should not be taken near the waters edge due to the presence of alligators. See Details
Fairview-Riverside State Park Dogs are welcome to join their owners at pet-friendly Fairview-Riverside State Park in Madisonville, LA. As you enter the park, you'll notice Otis House near the entrance. This historic building constructed in the 1880s was donated to the State of Louisiana in 1962 and can now be toured, although dogs are not allowed inside. You and Fido can wander on the nature trail that will lead you through a canopy of huge, old oak trees alongside the river. Lake Fausse Pointe State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park in St. Martinville, LA, which was once home to the Chitimacha Indians. There are three dog-friendly hiking trails that weave around the woodlands surrounding the lake and over 100 different types of bird in the skies above.
