Petrified Forest National Park Get a glimpse of ancient history at the Petrified Forest National Park. Hike the many trails, enjoy the vistas provided by scenic overlooks, or go backpacking in the wilderness area with your favorite furry friend. Pets must be leashed whenever they are outside of a vehicle. They are permitted in all areas of the park except for buildings and areas closed to the public. Park officials do ask that pets not be permitted to interact with wildlife or investigate dead animals, nests, or burrows. See Details

Casa Grande Ruins Casa Grande Ruins is a pet-friendly national monument in Coolidge, AZ. Bring Fido to enjoy the mystery and complexity of an extended network of communities and irrigation canals. Well-behaved pets on a leash or under physical restraint are welcome in the park. You will need to clean up after your pup and have him under your direct control at all times. See Details
Saguaro National Park Bring Fido with you to explore the dog-friendly Saguaro National Park in Tucson, AZ. Pets are allowed only on roadways, picnic areas and paved trails. Dogs are not allowed on trails, off-road or inside visitors centers. Dog owners should keep Fido on a leash no more than six feet and should watch out for cactus spines, thorny brush, snakes, open mine shafts, scorpions, and heat stroke in their pet. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument The Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Ajo, AZ, is pet friendly. Dogs are welcome on the Palo Verde Trail, Campground Perimeter Trail, and all roads open to visitors, including the paved campground areas. Your pup can also join you on the nature trail at the Kris Eggle Visitor Center, but they must access the trail from the parking lot, not through the visitor center. Make sure you keep them on a leash under six feet for the duration of your time in the park. See Details
Anza Trail at Tumacacori National Historical Park The Anza Trail is a dog-friendly trail in Tumacacori, AZ, that leads back and forth between Tumacácori National Historical Park and Tubac Presidio State Historic Park. For those not wanting to do the full 8-mile roundtrip, there is a shuttle that welcomes leashed pets at certain times during the year. Check the website for current schedule. Please note that dogs must be leashed at all times and are not permitted on mission grounds or inside buildings. See Details
Blue Mesa Road Leave the real world behind you as you set out on this scenic drive located inside Petrified Forest National Park near Chambers, AZ. Blue Mesa Road may only be a three mile loop, but you'll want to take your time with this one. There are places to pull over along the path and take in the scenery of petrified wood and beautiful blue hills. Before you hit the road, be sure to stop by the park's entrance booth and sign Fido up to be a Bark Ranger! See Details
Arizona National Scenic Trail The Arizona National Scenic Trail begins in Mexico, passes through several remote regions of Arizona, and ends in Utah. Leashed dogs are welcome to hike with you. There are a few passages where dogs are not permitted: Passage 1 - Coronado National Memorial, Passage 9 - Saguaro National Park, Passages 11-12 Pusch Ridge Wilderness, and Passages 37-39 through Grand Canyon National Park. Bringing plenty of water for both you and Fido is crucial. Be on the lookout for cacti, venomous wildlife, and paw discomfort due to the rocky and sandy terrain. See Details
Upper Lake Mary Upper Lake Mary is one of two manmade lakes near Flagstaff, AZ. This pet-friendly destination is popular for swimming, boating and other water activities. Your furry friend is allowed in most areas of the park that is part of the Coconino National Forest Recreation Area. Dogs are permitted in most park areas. See Details
Desert View Drive Pets are welcome to join you on the Desert View Drive portion of SR 64, a scenic road that begins near Grand Canyon Village, AZ. Private vehicles can drive east along the canyon rim for 23 miles to the Desert View Services Area, and the East Entrance of Grand Canyon National Park. You'll pass six developed canyon viewpoints, four picnic areas, five unmarked pullouts and a Tusayan Pueblo Site, viewable in summer. Desert View Drive begins at Mile Marker 241.5 - at the junction with South Entrance Road. See Details
Crest Trail #103 Explore nature with Fido on the dog-friendly Crest Trail #103 in Hereford, AZ. This trail is located within the Coronado National Memorial. The 4-mile trek is considered difficult, but is the only hike within the park that allows dogs. It begins at the northeastern section of Montezuma Pass and ends at Miller Peak. Pets must be on a leash of six feet or less in length at all times. See Details
Old Tombstone Western Theme Park Bring Fido along to the dog-friendly Old Tombstone Western Theme Park in Tombstone, AZ. They host the town's longest running professional gunfight show. Their national champion gunfight team, The Tombstone Cowboys, consists of professional actors who carry numerous stunt and acting credits from your favorite Western films. Other activities include panning for gold, mini golf and a trolley tour. You can stroll through the town with your leashed pooch, as long as they are well-behaved. See Details
Xeriscape Garden at Chaparral Park Xeriscape Garden at Chaparral Park is a pet-friendly attraction in Scottsdale, AZ. Bring Fido along for a walk and learn about plants that grow well in Arizona, as well as how to reduce water usage while still keeping plants healthy in a desert environment. The garden is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat, with over 7,000 plants coming from over 200 individual species on display. Follow the paths marked with educational signs with your dog, who must be on a leash. After your walk, take Fido to the Chaparral Park dog park, which is right next to the garden. See Details
Historic Blue Forest Trail Experience some of the best scenery Arizona's badlands has to offer on the Historic Blue Forest Trail. This three mile hike in Petrified Forest National Park takes visitors along stunning views of colorful rocks, hoodoo formations, exposed stratification and more.
