Unfortunately, pooches can't go inside any of the historic buildings on the site such as the fort, and dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk or beach. The is a small fee to enter the park. Just down the road is the ferry to famous Cumberland Island National Seashore known for secluded beaches and wild horses. The park's nature trail winds through forest and salt marsh, and hikers may see gopher tortoises, fiddler crabs, herons and other birds. Dogs are allowed on all trails, but must be kept on a 6-ft max leash. Dogs are not permitted in or around historic sites, lodges, group camps, or swimming areas. See Details
