This dog-friendly trail is located within the San Bernardino National Forest and will take about 3.5 hours to complete with Fido. This trail is on the north side of the lake and will actually lead you to the backside of the mountain where water views disappear. However, losing the view of the water is worth the peace, quiet, and open vistas that take its place. This area is subject to closure due to habitat protection. Since this trailhead is within the bald eagle habitat, it's closed during the nesting season from winter to spring, sometimes extending into summer. See Details

At the end, this trail meets up with the PCT at the base of Bertha Peak. You can follow this connection up a little over one mile and reach the peak as well. The trail starts off HWY 38 about .2 miles west of Stanfield Cutoff and is well marked and has plenty of parking at the trailhead. Leashed dogs are allowed. Lake Gregory Regional Park Lake Gregory Regional Park is a dog-friendly recreational area located in the San Bernardino Mountains of Crestline, CA. In the summer, you can rent paddleboards, rowboats, paddleboats, sailboats, and water cycles. Outside of the swimming area, anglers will find excellent fishing for trout, catfish and bass. The real fun is the 2.7-mile fitness trail featuring exercise stations along the scenic path around the lake. Dogs must be leashed when visiting the park unless visiting one of the dog parks on the property. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach, at events, or in any of the gated areas.
