Russell Cave National Monument Russell Cave National Monument is a pet-friendly historic site in Bridgeport, AL. Once home to prehistoric peoples, it functions today as an archaeological site and historic monument, containing the most complete record of prehistoric cultures in the southeastern United States. The surrounding grounds are home to a museum, bookstore, and nature trails. Prehistoric tools and weapons demonstrations are available, and a Native American Festival takes place annually at the park. Dogs are allowed in the park but must remain on a leash at all times, and owners must clean up after their pets. While visiting, they offer Fido the chance to join the Bark Ranger program. Cloudland Canyon State Park The scenic Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn, GA, is located on the western end of Lookout Mountain, offering views from elevations as high as 1,980 feet. The park also boasts two cascading waterfalls are located along the Waterfalls Trail. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash 6 feet or shorter; however, they are not allowed in or around historic sites, lodges, group camps, or swimming areas.
