Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site Leashed dogs are allowed to join their owners on the historic, pet-friendly nature trail of Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site in Cartersville, GA. Previously the home to several thousand Native Americans, this park's purpose is to protect the 54-acres that includes six earthen mounds, a plaza, village site, borrow pits, and a defensive ditch.
