While hiking this scenic trail, please remember dogs must be leashed while on the main trail to the summit and under strict voice control on other trails. Mount Pisgah Arboretum Mount Pisgah Arboretum is dog-friendly! The Arboretum is a two-hundred-and-nine-acre living tree museum that features quiet trails and space for picnics. Fido is welcome in the Arboretum and on the trails; however, pets must be leashed and cleaned up after during their visit. In the larger Howard Buford Recreation Area, which surrounds the Arboretum, leashes are required on Trail 1 and Trail 2. Admission to the Arboretum is free.
