Grand View Trail The Grand View Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in La Luz! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Grand View Trail. Pet Friendly White Sands National Park
White Sands National Park Fido is welcome to explore the extremely rare gypsum sand dunes at White Sands National Park in Alamogordo, NM. Dogs are permitted as long as they are on a leash no longer than 6', cleaned up after, given lots of water, and never left unattended. Dogs are not allowed inside White Sands' visitor center. Admire the expanse of sparkling sand and panoramic mountain views by hiking the pet-friendly Alkali Flat Trail. This sandy trail is well-marked but does not have any shade.
