North Hempstead Beach Park North Hempstead Beach Park (formally known as Bar Beach & Hempstead Harbor Parks) is a 60-acre park located on a half-mile beachfront property (parking fee required). Leashed dogs are welcome on the nature trail and other trails located within the park. For humans, the park also features court games like basketball, handball and paddleball.
