Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the pioneer cabins or any of the other buildings in the park, but leashed pets are permitted in the visitor center to gain access to the trails.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a dog-friendly national park in Kennesaw, GA. This National Battlefield preserves the land of this nearly three week long Civil War battle by the Atlanta Campaign. Fido is welcome to join you throughout the trails at this 2,965 acre park, however all pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet in length, and pets are not allowed in the visitor center, restroom facilities, shuttle bus, or near the water fountains.

Leashed dogs are allowed to join their owners on the historic, pet-friendly nature trail of Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site in Cartersville, GA. Previously the home to several thousand Native Americans, this park's purpose is to protect the 54-acres that includes six earthen mounds, a plaza, village site, borrow pits, and a defensive ditch. The earthen mounds were constructed by Native American tribes for numerous reasons, including for burial and ritual purposes. Please note that dogs are not permitted inside buildings at the park.
