Pet Friendly Skidaway Island State Park
Skidaway Island State Park Located near historic Savannah, the dog-friendly Skidaway Island State Park is a part of Georgia’s intracoastal waterway. The park provides camping and picnicking surrounded by Spanish moss-draped live oaks. Trails wind through maritime forest and over salt marsh allowing visitors to watch for deer, fiddler crabs, raccoon, egrets and migrating birds such as colorful painted buntings. An observation tower provides another chance to watch for wildlife on the barrier island. Dogs must be leashed at all times and are not permitted in any buildings. See Details

Wormsloe State Historic Site Leashed dogs are allowed on pet-friendly historic site trails at Wormsloe State Historic Site in Savannah, GA. A breathtaking avenue sheltered by live oaks and Spanish moss leads to the tabby ruins of this Colonial estate dating back to the 1700. The interpretive nature trail (0.8 miles) leads past the tabby ruins along the marsh to the Colonial Life Area where, during programs and special events, demonstrators in period dress exhibit the tools and skills of Colonial Georgia.
