Thousand Acres (Sandy River Delta)

The name says is all! Literally a thousand acres of off leash trails that lead to the sandy river where your dog can wade or swim. You can walk around for hours or just a little while, either way you and your dog will love it. It can be muddy at times due to Portland's frequent rain, but there is a main gravel trail that is ok for walking on even when its wet out. Take I-84 to exit 18, follow the road and cut back under 84, stay straight instead of getting on the on ramp and you will be in doggy heaven!

Powell Butte Nature Park

You'll forget you're in the city at this quiet, peaceful nature park in the heart of Portland. Leashed pets are welcome.

Tryon Creek State Park

Tryon Creek State Park has a nice and easy, 3.8-mile hike that takes about 1.5 hours to complete with Fido. This trail is heavily trafficked and allows bikers and horses, but it is a quick escape from Portland. Please note that dogs must be on leash no longer than 6 feet.

Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

Leashed dogs are welcome at this lovely botanical garden and park. Your dog will love all the new smells and watching the ducks. The garden is open April 1-September 30 from 6am-10pm and October 1-March 31 from 6am-6pm. Admission is free to all from October 1, through February 28. A $5 admission fee is charged between 10am-6pm, Tuesday through Sunday from March 1, through September 30. No admission fee on Mondays.
