Maah Daah Hey Maah Daah Hey is a dog-friendly trail in Medora, ND. Described by many as the best-kept secret in the state, this 144-mile-long trail is a great way to see the state's stunning scenery. Dogs must remain on a leash due to the other wildlife that may be spotted, including prairie dogs. Graham's Island State Park Graham's Island State Park in Devils Lake, ND, is dog friendly. Roughrider Trail The Roughrider Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Mandan! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Roughrider Trail. Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site in Stanton, ND, is dog friendly. Fido can join you on an exploration of the villages once inhabited by Earthlodge people at this national historic site. Lake Sakakawea State Park Lake Sakakawea State Park in Pick City, ND, is dog friendly. Located on the lake's south shore, which is one of the three largest manufactured reservoirs in the nation, this park offers a full-service marina, convenience store and camping storage. Cross Ranch State Park Cross Ranch State Park in Center, ND is pet friendly. Here, you and Fido can explore over 13 miles of trails together. This extensive trail system allows access to a 5,000-acre nature preserve with mixed prairie grass, river bottom forests, woody draws and roaming bison. The Greenway The Greenway is a pet-friendly natural open space in the heart of Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks. Located on approximately 2,200 acres of space, the Greenway features over 20 miles of multi purpose trails, several parks, campground, 2 golf courses, 3 disc golf courses, shore bank fishing sites and more. White Butte North Dakota’s Highest Point Trail White Butte North Dakota’s Highest Point Trail is a 3.5 mile dog-friendly hike in Bowman, ND. Considered an easy route which should take 1.5 hours to complete, the trail is popular for birding, hiking, and trail running. Dogs are permitted to be off-leash in certain areas. Hikers can admire panoramic views of the Northern Plains and, at 3,506 feet above sea level, those who summit can brag about reaching the highest point in North Dakota.
