Best Dog-Friendly Brewery

Dunedin Brewery, the best dog-friendly brewery in Florida, might be the only beer production facility in the country to double as a dog rescue. Home to Dunedin Doggie Rescue, they host monthly adoption drives for area pups. Located in one of the most pet-friendly beach towns in America, it should come as no surprise that Florida’s oldest microbrewery loves furry friends. Bring your pooch along to hang out on the patio and enjoy a bowl of fresh water on a hot day. Humans can sample highlights like Pipers Pale Ale and Celtic Gold Ale. After you finish your treat, reward your dog for keeping you company with something refreshing from Bark Avenue of Dunedin.

Stroll home with your Schnauzer to Best Western Plus Yacht Harbor Inn.

Most Dog-Friendly State Park

Rent a canoe or kayak, or bring your own and paddle with your pooch along the Rainbow River at Rainbow Springs State Park, the most dog-friendly state park in Florida. While dogs are not allowed in the water, they can relax while you navigate the sapphire-blue water, keeping an eye out for aquatic life below. Once you’re back on land, take a hike through the lush, mossy hammocks to three man-made waterfalls, and stop for photos of your pup at one of the largest springs in the state. Be sure to stop by the park’s butterfly garden, where a variety of plants attract many species.

After a busy day in the park, you won’t have to venture far for a good night’s rest at this Rainbow River Getaway.

Planning a spring break in Florida? Drive all the way down the A1A to the incredible Florida Keys and visit the most dog-friendly attraction in the state. Meet creatures from the deep at the Theater of the Sea in Islamorada. This open-air marine park has been delighting audiences since 1946 with its array of marine life shows and exhibits. Visiting pups can watch dolphin and sea lion performances and get up close and personal with sea turtles, fish, sharks, stingrays, alligators, and birds. They can even join you for a swim at the park’s private lagoon-side beach. The only area that is off-limits to dogs is the Parrot Theater.

For an unrivaled relaxing stay nearby, check in with your Chow Chow to a tropical view room at the Islander Resort. Fido can sprawl on a sun lounger by your side, then let off steam on the beach or at the resort’s dog park.

Camp at Florida’s most dog-friendly campground, Fort De Soto Campground, just outside of St. Petersburg. Fido will enjoy easy access to one of the only pet-friendly beaches in the area, Fort DeSoto Dog Beach Park. Dogs are welcome in Section Two of the county park, which consists of 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands. Let your pup run leash-free on the white-sand beach of the Paw Playground, or in one of two fully fenced dog parks. Your pup can also join you for a walk along the 6.8-mile paved trail that connects the campground to the dog park, beach, and all other areas of the park. Dogs are welcome for no additional fee.

Want to visit the best dog park in Florida? Splash down in the refreshing water at Lake Baldwin Park in Winter Park. “Floridogs” will understand the importance of heat management, and taking a break from The Sunshine State’s rays at this popular park is one way to do it. Make a day of it and bring a homemade meal for your pooch to enjoy at the picnic tables underneath shady pavilions. When you’re finished frolicking for the day, clean up your pup’s sandy paws at the park’s convenient dog wash stations.

No need to travel far for a good night’s sleep after a dip in the lake. This pet-friendly apartment is just off the park’s paved running trail.

Can’t Miss Dog Event

Mark your calendars for the Annual Jupiter Golden Jubilee, Florida’s “fur-most” Golden Retriever gathering and can’t miss dog event of the year. The event, held in November, raises awareness for the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, which aims to identify risk factors for cancer and other diseases in dogs. Many of the pups taking part in the study will be in attendance, but all pooches are welcome. Revelers with retrievers can soak up the sun and surf off-leash on Jupiter Beach in the morning.

Goldens of all sizes can stay at nearby Holiday Inn Express North Palm Beach Oceanview. This beach hotel has easy access to an outdoor area and is just a short walk from the pet-friendly patio at Hurricane Cafe.
