Reservation for 3: Valentine's Day Dining With Fido
Posted by Erin Ballinger
1. The Morrison
Sweep Fido off his paws at The Morrison, a dog-friendly Los Angeles pub that serves items from a special dog menu in bowls on silver platters. Each of its tasty offerings is a mere $6. Hungry hounds can dine on heaping portions of rice served with your choice of grilled chicken, chopped hamburger, or a hot dog wiener. Every order comes with free Milk-Bones, too! While your loyal companion chows down on his grub, enjoy a gourmet burger or salad and an ice-cold craft beer with your date. Have a nightcap in the lobby bar and extend your rendezvous overnight at the pet-friendly W Hollywood.
2. Watering Bowl
Visit this watering hole with an on-site, 7,000-square-foot dog park during a celebratory weekend in dog-friendly Denver. Arrange a Valentine’s doggy playdate at Watering Bowl while you enjoy waiter service for drinks and food items like BBQ chicken wings, mac and cheese bites, and burgers. This popular spot is so committed to celebrating love that Watering Bowl will even arrange canine nuptials for your pooch and his furry soulmate. End the magical day with a chaperoned honeymoon at Hotel Teatro, where visiting pups receive treats, a dog bed and bowls at check-in.
3. Park Tavern
Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with dinner and dancing at Park Tavern. On the weekends, DJs spin tunes that are perfect for slow dancing with your sweetheart. Park Tavern is considered one of Atlanta’s most pet-friendly restaurants, so of course Fido is invited to tag along for a night filled with great music, food and Valentine’s Day-themed drink specials overlooking Piedmont Park and the Midtown skyline. Make it a weekend getaway in the ATL and enjoy chic, pet-friendly accommodations nearby at Loews Atlanta Hotel.
4. The Forge
Spend Valentine’s lunch or dinner at The Forge in Carmel. Linger over a glass of sparkling wine on the lush garden patio while your dog dines on a meal from the Canine Cuisine menu. The restaurant offers several items for pups, from Plain Ol’ Kibble to The Good Dog (8-ounce grilled and sliced NY steak). Treat your human date to Filet Mignon With Green Peppercorn Sauce or Lobster Linguine With Tarragon followed by Crème Brûlée or Chocolate Mousse Cake with Berries. After a romantic meal, retire to your room at the dog-friendly Cypress Inn and fall in love with the quaint seaside town.
5. Lobster Bar Sea Grille
Splurge on your two- and four-legged loved ones this Valentine's weekend in Miami with a stay at The Setai South Beach and reservations at Lobster Bar Sea Grille. This restaurant, located in the SoFi neighborhood of South Beach, is super pup-friendly and offers a Pooches on the Patio menu, “pawfect” for a special night out. Spoil your best bud with a Dirty Dog Martini (filtered water with veal jus) or the refreshing SoFi Dog (filtered water with slices of cucumber) to wash down his main course of Filet Mignon. Other offerings include Beef Short Rib Stew, Grilled Chicken “Chop Chop,” Beef Meatballs or the Vegetable Plate. While Fido chows down, treat yourself and your special someone to the restaurant’s stone crabs, lobsters, seafood dishes or USDA Prime steaks.
6. Weft & Warp
Celebrate Valentine’s Day by dining out with your soulmate and “soul mutt” while enjoying beautiful weather and views of Camelback Mountain on Weft & Warp’s pretty patio. Order your “puppy love” something yummy (may we suggest the grilled flatiron steak?) from the Doggy Menu, and $1 will be donated from each meal to Lucky Dog Rescue. Treat your loved ones to some much-deserved R&R with a stay at the nearby, pet-friendly Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Bungalows, where you can spend some quality time together exploring the hotel’s winding paths, sprawling lawns, and acres of wide-open spaces.
7. Moss Beach Distillery
Your good boy will love dining with you on the dog-friendly, heated Seal Cove Patio at Moss Beach Distillery in San Mateo County, California. The restaurant’s Doggie Menu includes mouthwatering items like bacon slices, a grilled hot dog, mini burger patties, scrambled eggs, a chopped grilled chicken breast and skirt steak. While Fido laps up his meal, treat your loved one to a bloody mary and oysters on the half shell. Moss Beach Distillery will even provide a dog bed! To make the date extra cozy, snuggle up in a blanket beside one of the seaside fire pits and raise a toast to the stunning views of the sun setting over the Pacific. Stay nearby in a fantastic pet-friendly bungalow with views of Moss Beach, where you won’t have to “ruff” it this Valentine’s Day.
8. Norm’s Eatery & Ale House
If you’re in the Emerald City, invite Fido to a table for three at Norm's Eatery & Ale House. Dogs are treated like VIPs at this Fremont neighborhood pub and are even allowed inside. Norm’s also has a menu especially for canine companions. Start off your pup’s Valentine’s feast with chicken feet, followed by a Chicken or Beef Bow Wow Bowl, and end on a sweet note with a Bacon Pupcake. Human diners can nosh on classic bar fare paired with a celebratory cocktail. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or want a romantic staycation, book a few nights at this Fremont apartment with a fire pit and toast some s’mores with your loved ones.
9. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
With locations across California, Texas, and Nevada, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is a canine-themed eatery with dog-friendly outdoor seating where your server will greet your pup a bowl of cold water. There’s a menu filled with tasty vittles just for Fido and one with an eclectic array of hearty American eats for you and your date. Order your pooch a grilled hamburger patty or a grilled chicken breast served with brown rice for a special Valentine's Day treat.
Take your “pupsicle” out for a sweet treat at any one of Bruster’s Real Ice Cream’s 200 locations this Valentine’s Day. The ice cream parlor serves up free Doggy Sundaes made with a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a Milk-Bone. Enjoy your own scoop, shake, banana split or sundae made with premium ice cream at an outdoor table with your date and your beloved barker.
