As summer approaches, it’s a good time to hit up happy hour at your favorite dog-friendly restaurant with your best friend for a cold beverage and tasty nibbles. We’ve dug up some of the best happy hour specials across the country to inspire your next DNO (dog’s night out). From dog beers and free fro-yo for furry friends to food and beverage discounts for pet parents on the “pawtio,” these spots put the yappy in happy hour.

Bask in the setting Florida sun with Fido at Shooters Waterfront in Fort Lauderdale. The “pupular” eatery has a dog-friendly outdoor area overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. During happy hour, take advantage of amazing discounted appetizers and half-price cocktails, beers, and wines by the glass. Your pooch won’t be left out while you nosh on smoked fish dip and sip on a guava martini. Shooters has a menu just for dogs that features Ocean Reef Turkey, Boca Chica Chicken, and Bahia Beef bowls. Check the restaurant’s event calendar for frequent performances by live bands.

Happy hour specials are available Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Keep the Fort Lauderdale vibes going at this nearby dog-friendly Airbnb with a private patio.

Foxcroft Wine Co.

Pups pair well with any kind of wine on the patio at Foxcroft Wine Co. Happy hour at this happening spot in downtown Greenville, SC, features a free frozen yogurt treat for dogs made locally by Blueberry Frog. Specials for humans include discounts on select wines by the glass, wine flights, and appetizers like Foxcroft’s popular truffle fries. The pet-friendly restaurant is just steps away from Falls Park on the Reedy, where you and your pooch can burn some calories as you cross the Liberty Bridge and admire the dramatic waterfall that bisects Main Street.

Foxcroft Wine Co.’s happy hour specials run Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. From here, you and your pup are just a short stroll away from the pet-friendly Homewood Suites by Hilton Greenville.

The Adobe Restaurant

The Adobe Restaurant’s pup-friendly patio is the perfect happy hour spot for watching golf and soaking up the atmosphere of the Biltmore Golf Club. The restaurant, housed in what was once the Wrigley Mansion barn, is a hit with humans for its burgers, brews, and views. Dogs love The Adobe’s all-day Yappy Hour menu, which features $5 vittles including a chicken and rice bowl, grilled burger patty, and scrambled eggs and bacon, all garnished with a dog treat. Happy hour specials for humans include $4 and $5 beers, $5 house wines by the glass, $8 craft cocktails, and appetizer specials.

Happy hour at The Adobe Restaurant starts at 3 p.m. every day until close. The Yappy Hour Dog Menu is available daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sleep it off at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak. The hotel offers pet relief areas on site and a dog park just down the street.

The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar

Dogs are welcome on the "pawtio" and have their own three-course menu at The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar! Your pup will have a hard time deciding what to choose off The Craft & Crew Dog Menu, with selections like frozen smoked beef marrow bone, turkey muttloaf, salmon cakes, and peanut butter-banana non-dairy ice cream. On Tuesdays from 5 p.m. until close, canines eat free with the purchase of a human entree. The Howe’s happy hour specials include $1 off well drinks and beers, and specially-priced bar food.

The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar’s happy hours are Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. Afterwards, retire to this cozy townhouse. With three bedrooms, there’s room for the whole pack, and downtown Minneapolis is just a 10-minute drive away.

La Contenta Oeste

In Manhattan’s trendy West Village, La Contenta Oeste’s hora feliz offers discounted agave cocktails, micheladas, beers, and Mexican fare for humans. There’s a menu for canine amigos, too! Sip on the patio as your pooch chows down on Pollito con Papas (poached chicken with carrots and potatoes), Hamburguesa (a pan-roasted beef patty topped with Chihuahua cheese and sweet potatoes), or La Vegetariano (quinoa and rice with sweet potatoes and carrots).

La Contenta Oeste’s happy hour is Monday through Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. After exploring the West Village, head south to Soho and the Soho Grand Hotel, which offers the rare perk of an on-site dog park.

Vancouver Brickhouse Bar & Grill

Tasty pub grub, a large selection of craft beers, and live music keep Vancouver Brickhouse Bar & Grill hopping. Dogs are welcome to join you on the large patio, where a daily happy hour invites you to enjoy discounted food and alcoholic beverages in a family-friendly atmosphere. While Fido laps up water and munches on a treat, snack on some fried goodies while you sip on a draught Pacific Northwest brew from one of the 20 taps. Be sure to stay for the entertainment that varies from karaoke, live music, and open mic nights.

Happy hour food and drink specials are available daily from 3 to 6 p.m. On Fridays, food happy hour is extended and runs from noon until 11 p.m. Keep the party going at this 1923 Craftsman Bungalow. The pet-friendly Airbnb has a fenced yard and welcomes social pups who will get along with the resident dogs.

Upstairs at Caroline

The vibe during happy hour at Austin’s Upstairs at Caroline is that of a fun backyard party where the cocktails (and tall boys) are flowing, and everyone is playing fun games like cornhole and giant Jenga. Of course, Fido is invited and is a guest of honor with his own menu, so you can treat him to an ice cream or an order of sweet potato fries. Happy hour food and beverage specials vary according to the day of the week. Sundays are especially fun because it’s Yappy Hour from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and you get 25% off your bill just for bringing your furry best friend.

Upstairs at Caroline hosts happy hour specials weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. You won’t need a pet-friendly Uber to reach your room at the Aloft Austin Downtown, which is only a block away.

Backyard Kitchen & Tap

Head to Pacific Beach for the Beach Break Special happy hour at Backyard Kitchen & Tap. Take advantage of $5 draft beers and the $15 “Classic Burger and a Beer Special” for yourself, and treat your pooch to a grilled burger patty or chicken breast paired with yellow rice or homemade dog biscuits from the restaurant’s Doggie Menu. In addition to happy hour, Backyard Kitchen & Tap is a popular brunch hangout for dogs and their owners in the San Diego area.

Happy hour specials are available at Backyard Kitchen & Tap Wednesday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. Stay close to the beach with a pet-friendly room at Pacific Shores Inn Pacific Beach.
