A few drinks can make you think everybody at the bar is your best friend, but your real best bud often has to miss out. Fortunately, there are places where everybody knows Fido’s name. Put your next brew on your pup’s tab at one of these pet-friendly dog park bars.

1. Hops & Hounds

Hops & Hounds provides patrons with the three P’s for guaranteed happiness - pints, plates and pooches. This San Antonio hangout invites dogs to join their owners on-leash in the expansive garden under the shade of trees and colorful umbrellas, and humans to join their pups in the off-leash dog park. The fenced space is separated into a puppy play area for less active and small dogs, and a main park. Grab a burger or some wings, kick back and relax with your best friend for company at this fun play area for both four-and-two-legged visitors. Dogs play in the park for free.

Located near the airport, Hops & Hounds is perfect for a stopover. After a day of play, touch down at Pear Tree Inn San Antonio Airport. Two pets with a combined weight up to 80 lbs are welcome for an additional fee of $35 per night.

2. BrewHound Dog Park + Bar

BrewHound Dog Park + Bar was born from a “love of dogs, the great outdoors, local brew, and local coffee,” and has delighted its patrons ever since the doggy doors opened in 2019. Located in Neptune Beach off historic Florida State Road A1A, it’s the perfect post-beach hangout. The Yard is BrewHound’s off-leash dog park, covered in pet-friendly turf grass, divided into separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, and equipped with shady spots and a splash pad. Trained ”Ruffarees” make sure park play stays safe. The Porch is a covered, cabin-like structure where you can buy craft beer and wine on tap, along with other refreshments. BrewHound memberships that include access to The Yard and other perks cost $8 for a daily pass, $25 for a monthly pass, and $195 for an annual pass. Leashed dogs are welcome on The Porch for free.

Sleep it off on a sun lounger at One Ocean Resort Hotel & Spa. Two pets up to 60 lbs are accepted for a fee of $150 per stay.

3. The Hounds & Tap

The Hounds & Tap is Wisconsin’s first tavern, dog park, doggy daycare, boarding and grooming facility. This “hangout for hounds and humans” has it all under one roof. Fido can play year-round in an off-leash indoor or outdoor dog park while you grab a beer from the tavern and boast about how adorable he is. When he’s finished with fetch, clean off the slobber at the self-wash or reserve an appointment for a makeover with one of the on-staff expert groomers. Day passes to the dog park are $10 and monthly passes are $30. Grooming and other services are priced individually.

After last call, enjoy a relaxing stay at this charming Wauwatosa house with a calming Koi pond in the backyard. Dogs are welcome for no additional fee.

4. Unleashed Hounds & Hops

If you’re spending a weekend in dog-friendly Minneapolis, be sure to add Unleashed Hounds & Hops to your itinerary. Minnesota’s first bar to totally go to the dogs has a motto that we can get behind: “Nothing brings people together better than good food, cold beer and your best friend.” Bite-sized bounders can enjoy free play in the small dog area, while bigger pups who love a bit of “ruff” and tumble can stretch their legs in the main indoor or outdoor space, depending on the weather. Grab a beer or a bite and enjoy good canine company all night long at Unleashed. Daily passes are $7.99, monthly passes are $33.99 and annual passes are $249.99.

Reattach Fido’s leash and head to Hewing Hotel for 4-star comfort. Your pooch can join you in the bar & lounge and will sleep peacefully on the hotel’s BarkBox Memory Foam dog beds. Two pets of any size are permitted for an additional fee of $75 per stay.

5. Barkology

Barkology brings the dog park and bar combo to Buffalo for the very first time. “Stop, sit and sip” with your best friend at this beautiful facility which opened in May 2021. The venue includes a fenced dog park inside for drizzly days and an outdoor area for fun in the sun. Sip on a beer, cocktail or glass of wine from the bar and watch your pooch in her element - with a bucket full of tennis balls. Day passes are $10, monthly passes are $30 and annual passes are $225. Barkology also offers doggy daycare and birthday party packages for $45.

6. The Dog Bar

The Dog Bar boasts over 4,500 square feet of fenced dog park. Divided into two sections, the park features pet-friendly turf, an inviting bone-shaped pool, misting fans to fight the Florida heat, and five televisions if you ever get bored of watching your pooch having the time of her life. Although pups play freely, a “Wooferee” keeps an eye on proceedings during peak times to ensure that all members have fun and stay safe. If Fido’s turning 21 in dog years, reserve a party package and celebrate with his pals in the private party room. With 31 draft beers, cocktails and wines, every day is special at The Dog Bar. Membership costs $5 for a day pass, $30 for a 10-punch pass, and $50 for an annual membership.

7. The Unleashed Dog Bar

The Unleashed Dog Bar is self-styled as “your best friend’s favorite bar.” Located in BringFido’s hometown of Greenville, this neighborhood hangout has everything you need for a good time: beer, wine and canines. While you enjoy a local draft brew, Fido can stroll around and chat with the other “pawtrons” about the big game of fetch they saw last night. Memberships are just $3 for a daily pass and $10 for an annual pass.

When the time comes to say goodbye to new friends, make your way to Hyatt Place Greenville Haywood. Two dogs up to 50 lbs are allowed for an additional fee of $75 per stay.

8. Wonder Bar

Wonder Bar hosts one of the most famous Yappy Hours in the world. Located just off Asbury Park Boardwalk in New Jersey, this bar-come-dog park has also hosted some of the biggest legends of rock ‘n’ roll, including local hero Bruce Springsteen. The beachy bar’s outdoor space, Tillie’s Landing, invites dogs to play in the sand off-leash while their owners enjoy a cocktail from the tiki bar. Equipped with paddling pools, an agility area and a time-out section for pooches who need a break from all the fun, this rad bar will have Fido begging for more. Dogs play for free.

Wander away from Wonder Bar along the boardwalk to the beautiful oceanfront hotel, The Asbury. Two pets of any size are permitted for an additional fee of $75 per stay.

Hatched by founder Stephen Ochs’ desire to hang with his boxer Oakley at work, Georgia’s first full-service dog park bar welcomes all best friends to join in the fun. Ochs is also passionate about baseball, which is why the dog park has a minor league baseball vibe. Throw a perfect pitch for your pooch on the pristine artificial turf, play together on the agility equipment, and join the regulars for a Yappy Hour on your next trip to the Big A. Daily passes are $10.

10. Yard Bar

Yard Bar has just as many items on its dog menu as there are sandwiches on the human menu. Fido can enjoy a House-Made Dog Treat, a Nathan’s Hotdog, or Dog Meatballs and Gravy. He can wash it down with a Bone Star dog beer and, if he’s saved room, finish his feast with house-made ice cream for dessert! After dining, he can join his friends at the off-leash dog park, which features small and large dog play areas, ice splash pools in the summer, agility equipment, and Bark Rangers to keep things from getting ruff. Day passes during the week cost $9 per dog, and weekend and night passes are $7.50 per dog. Monthly memberships are $25 per month.

When Fido is full up and splashed out, treat him to the lap of luxury at Renaissance Austin Hotel. Two pets of any size are accepted for an additional fee of $50 per night.
