Attention all dog lovers! Mark your calendars because August 26 is National Dog Day, the perfect day of the year to treat your best friend like canine royalty. At these National Dog Day events, you can celebrate your bond by doing arts and crafts, riding a Ferris wheel, competing in a peanut butter-eating competition for canines, running a race, and even possibly growing your family by four more paws. The hardest part of celebrating National Dog Day in 2024 will be choosing which of these “pawties” to attend. If none of the events on our list work for Fido’s schedule, celebrate together by doing one of these 10 activities instead.

Pupstock will take place on August 24, 2024 from noon to 5 p.m. and benefits BARKS and O.S.C.A.R. Animal Rescues. Advance admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 and up, and free for dogs and kids 5 and under. To ensure everyone's safety, dogs must remain leashed and retractable leashes are prohibited.
You and Fido can stay nearby at the pet-friendly Quality Inn Near Mountain Creek which features a grassy area for pet relief.
