New Pet-Friendly Hotels: August 2023

August brings six hotels that are opening their doors to furry guests for the first time. From South Carolina’s Lowcountry to Martha’s Vineyard, Fido can rest his paws at these newly pet-friendly accommodations across America this month.

Hotel Emeline

Located in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, Hotel Emeline provides canine travelers with contemporary accommodations in a classic setting. Pups receive comfy beds, mats, bowls and custom-made treats upon arrival. Refined rooms feature designated workspaces, cozy sitting areas, mini refrigerators and embroidered spa robes. Guests receive access to free high-speed WiFi, the 24/7 fitness center, a quaint courtyard and greenhouse, and cruising bicycles for downtown exploration.

Fido can put his sea paws to the test aboard the nearby Charleston Water Taxi, a fun way to navigate around the city.

Hotel Emeline welcomes a maximum of two dogs up to 40 lbs for an additional fee of $100 per stay.

Element Hampton Peninsula Town Center

Furry visitors to coastal Virginia will feel right at home at Element Hampton Peninsula Town Center. Apartment-style rooms and suites contain separate living areas, work desks, kitchen/kitchenettes, complimentary WiFi and LCD TVs. Fuel up each morning with a free breakfast, work out in the on-site gym, swim in a heated indoor pool, and unwind at the evening beer and wine reception.

Pups can play off leash less than three miles away at the Sandy Bottom Bark Park, a fully fenced park with water fountains and shade trees.

Element Hampton Peninsula Town Center accepts a maximum of two dogs up to 40 lbs for an additional fee of $25 per night.

Balanced Rock Inn

The newly renovated Balanced Rock Inn offers two- and four-legged outdoor enthusiasts a convenient spot to rest and recharge after a day of adventure. Spacious rooms are outfitted with laminate wood flooring, work desks, small dining tables, microwaves and mini refrigerators, and private bathrooms. Parking and WiFi are complimentary, and the Lunch Loops Community Recreation Area’s numerous hiking and biking trails are only fifteen minutes away.

Leashed pups can drink from a bowl of fresh water on the sidewalk patio at nearby Camilla’s Kaffe.

Balanced Rock Inn welcomes pets of any size for an additional fee of $25 per pet, per stay.

Hutton Brickyards Retreat & Spa

Nestled on the scenic banks of the Hudson River, Hutton Brickyards Retreat & Spa provides luxury nature getaways for pups and their owners. King and Queen Cabins come equipped with hardwood floors, fold-down futons, mini refrigerators, compact bathrooms with walk-in showers and private decks with lounge chairs. Dine in two on-site restaurants, exercise at the riverside outdoor gym, rejuvenate in a wooden barrel sauna and snuggle up beside the fire pits for an evening under the stars.

Less than a mile away, Kingston Point Dog Park is a fully fenced space with separate sections for large and small dogs.

Hutton Brickyards Retreat & Spa accepts a maximum of two pets of any size for an additional fee of $75 per pet, per stay.

Tru by Hilton Atlanta NW Kennesaw

With Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park in close proximity and downtown Atlanta only 20 miles away, Tru by Hilton Atlanta NW Kennesaw makes the perfect basecamp for a dog-friendly vacation to northern Georgia. Cozy, modern rooms include laminate hardwood floors, work pods, mini refrigerators and streaming HDTVs. Guests are treated to an array of top-notch amenities such as a free breakfast, lobby market, game room, fitness center, outdoor swimming pool and fire pit patio.

Pups can beg for tasty chicken on the dog-friendly patio at The Rotisserie, located just down the road from the hotel.

Tru by Hilton Atlanta NW Kennesaw welcomes a maximum of two pets up to 75 lbs for an additional fee of $75 (for stays of 1 to 4 nights) and $125 (for longer stays).

Franklin Hotel Martha’s Vineyard

When visiting one of the northeast’s top summer vacation destinations, pups and parents will find an abundance of comfort and style at Franklin Hotel Martha’s Vineyard. Individually-designed rooms with island and nautical theming feature hardwood floors, sitting nooks, electric fireplaces, flatscreen televisions, signature robes and slippers, and bathrooms with walk-in showers. Excellent property amenities include complimentary WiFi access, a 24-hour pantry and a garden patio with a fire pit.

Furry beachcombers are welcome to stroll the sandy confines at the nearby Edgartown Lighthouse.

Franklin Hotel Martha's Vineyard accepts pets up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $100 per pet, per stay.
