New Pet-Friendly Hotels: January 2021

Every month, more and more hotels are opening their doors to four-legged guests. Whether newly constructed or newly pet-friendly, here are seven hotels that are welcoming furry friends for the first time in January.

1. Lift House Lodge

Overlooking the groomed ski trails on majestic Vail Mountain, Lift House Lodge offers snow dogs and their owners a luxurious retreat to escape and unwind. Cozy studio condos come equipped with kitchenettes, living room fireplaces and private balconies offering picturesque mountain and village views.

If seeking adventure near the lodge, Fido can stretch his paws in the wide open grass and take a dip in the cool pond water at Bighorn Park Off Leash Dog Area. Leashed pups are also permitted to hike the 8-mile Pitkin Lake Trail that ascends the valley in the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area.

Lift House Lodge accepts two dogs of any size for an additional fee of $30 per pet, per night.

2. AC Hotel Boston Downtown

Located in the South End district of Boston, minutes from the heart of the city, AC Hotel Boston Downtown specializes in pampering pups. Canine VIPs receive tasty treats, food and water bowls, a Boston-inspired toy and a 10% discount at the Loyal Companion pet store a block away. Bright, open rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious bathrooms and mini refrigerators. Take advantage of excellent amenities like free WiFi, a 24-hour fitness center and a European-inspired breakfast buffet. For off-leash fun less than 2 miles from the hotel, head to South Boston Bark Park. Fido can chase tennis balls, race through tunnels and sniff the ocean breezes rolling in from Dorchester Bay.

3. Angad Arts Hotel

Nestled in the thick of the Grand Center Arts District, Angad Arts Hotel provides two- and four-legged guests warm hospitality in an eclectic setting. Choose colorful rooms designed specifically to fit your mood, including Curiosity Yellow, Powerful Red, Freedom Blue and Rejuvenation Green. Each room comes equipped with complimentary high-speed internet and a mini refrigerator. Book the special Pup Package and receive a tennis ball matching your room’s color, free parking, and a $25 donation to a local animal shelter.

Fido can experience even more culture at Laumeier Sculpture Park, located 12 miles from Angad Arts Hotel. Leashed pups are welcome to critique over 60 large-scale outdoor art installations, explore wooded trails, and take a snooze in the open fields.

Angad Arts Hotel accepts two dogs up to 60 lbs for an additional fee of $50 per stay.

4. Canopy by Hilton Memphis Downtown

Living up to the city’s rich music history, the Canopy by Hilton Memphis Downtown delivers rock star treatment to guest hounds. Through Canopy’s Paws in the Neighborhood program, furry travelers are showered with yummy treats, comfy beds, feeding bowls and fun chew toys. Cozy rooms with stylish decor feature mini refrigerators, handheld showers and scenic city views. Grab a bite to eat at the on-site cafe and get in a workout at the state-of-the-art fitness center.

To sample refreshing Southern-inspired brews less than a mile from the hotel, drop by High Cotton Brewing Co. Leashed dogs are welcome both inside and outside.

5. Ayres Hotel Vista Carlsbad

Encompassing Southern California’s laid-back vibe, the brand new Ayres Hotel Vista Carlsbad gives canine and human visitors a chill place to relax in comfort. Guest pups receive tasty treats and feeding bowls upon arrival, and are welcome on the hotel’s outdoor dining patio. Contemporary boutique-style rooms include writing desks, microwaves and mini refrigerators, and free WiFi access. Quality amenities afford guests the opportunity to feast on a complimentary breakfast, take a swim in the heated swimming pool and exercise in the on-site fitness center.

Take a leisurely drive down the coast to North Beach in Del Mar, where Fido can frolic in the surf and feel the sand in his paws. Dogs are permitted to play off leash from Labor Day through early June.

6. Home2 Suites by Hilton Brooklyn Park

If you and your furry companion are looking for a home away from away, Home2 Suites by Hilton Brooklyn Park provides the necessary accommodations. Spacious suites feature a separate living area with sofa bed, kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher, and a private bathroom with handheld shower. Stock up at the 24-hour on-site store, swim a few laps in the indoor pool, and feast on a complimentary breakfast every morning. Pups can run free over the hills and through the fields at the nearby Brookdale Park Off Leash Dog Park. A $3 day pass is required to gain entry.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Brooklyn Park Minneapolis welcomes two pets up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $75 (for stays of 1 to 5 nights), and $150 (for stays of 6 nights or more).

7. Tru by Hilton Albuquerque North I-25

Sleek and modern, Tru by Hilton Albuquerque North I-25 accepts dogs in spacious rooms equipped with hard surface floors, work desks with adjustable lamps, and mini refrigerators. Guests can fuel up each morning with a complimentary breakfast, and enjoy free WiFi available throughout the property. After kicking up his paws, Fido can shop ‘til he drops at Cottonwood Mall, one of America’s Coolest Pet-Friendly Malls. Leashed pups can also investigate hundreds of petroglyphs etched into the ancient rocks along Rinconada Canyon Trail, located 8 miles from the hotel.
