Fido will have a blast bidding farewell to summer and enjoying a day dedicated exclusively to him this August. Whether it's splashing in the pool, hanging out with friends at a lively festival, or catching some flicks, there's no shortage of activities to keep your furry companion entertained.

Bring Fido to make the most of the last hot days of the season at Summer Splash in Shoreline, WA. This August, your furry friend will get the chance to cool off and play around in the water alongside his pet companions. Both humans and pups can explore the offerings of local vendors, savor tasty items from on-site food trucks, participate in dog-centric activities and take part in the thrill of the silent auction. Proceeds from the event help support over 300 formerly homeless senior dogs in Old Dog Haven’s network of Final Refuge homes.

Summer Splash will be held on August 5 and is free to attend. Hotel Sorrento is a short drive to the event and centrally located to many pet-friendly activities in Seattle.

Connecticut Potato and Corn Festival

Nostalgia Movie Night will be held on August 18. If you’re visiting from out of town, book an affordable stay at Quality Inn & Suites Indianapolis West Brownsburg or Super 8 Brownsburg, both of which are a ten-minute drive from Williams Park, where the movie will be featured.

National Dog Day will be held on August 26. Admission is free, but they do ask that attendees RSVP. Book Homewood Suites Denver Littleton to be a quick drive from the action.

Puptopia Festival San Diego

Mark your calendars for Puptopia Festival San Diego, the ultimate canine event in California, this August. Witness thrilling stunt dog performances, showcasing impressive feats like dock diving, flyball racing and high jumping, on the main stage throughout the day. Fido can also join the fun by exploring the agility course area, featuring exciting obstacles like tunnels and ramps. Capture picture-perfect moments at the PAWground, where a towering nine-foot hydrant and oversized tennis balls await. Take a break at the inviting K9 lounge, providing refreshments and nourishment for both humans and dogs, and finish up a long day of fun by letting Fido get a pedicure at the SPAW while you learn the art of canine massage.

Puptopia Festival San Diego will be held on August 26. Admission ranges between $30 - $40 per person. Book a stay at Wyndham San Diego Bayside across the street from the festival location, Waterfront Park, to enjoy the entire day of fun.

Humans will have just as much fun visiting local pet-related booths, attending the Pet-Friendly Plants and How to Keep Pets Away from Plants seminars, and savoring a refreshing treat from the ice cream truck.

Plants & Pets will be held on August 26. While admission is free, registration is strongly encouraged. La Quinta by Wyndham Tampa Brandon Regency Park is a great place to reserve a stay, just a short ten-minute ride to the event space.
