Puppy Prom - Diamonds Are Forever
Don’t forget Fido’s bling at this year's Puppy Prom - Diamonds Are Forever! The event will include food, raffles, photoshoots, costume contests, and a few other pup-centric surprises. The party will culminate in the crowning of the Royal Court, including Queen and King, Lord and Lady, Best Matching Mommy & Me or Daddy & Me duo, and the Best Dressed overall. The King and Queen of Puppy Prom will receive a trophy, crown, and sash, along with other goodies.
This year’s Puppy Prom - Diamonds are forever will be held on June 11 from noon to 4 p.m. The Kimpton Muse Hotel in NYC welcomes four-legged guests like royalty with treats, doggy beds, and bowls.
Bark on Biddle
Bark on Biddle is a three-day dog event on the riverfront at Bishop Park. There will be a variety of pet-related vendors with doggy fashion, homemade treats and food, unique dog items, and toys. Four-legged attendees can leap for the win in the Ultimate Air Dogs dock jumping competition. The Disc Dogs of Michigan will be there to put on a show featuring an entourage of canines that do high-flying, frisbee-snatching, record-setting tricks. Lucky Dogs Lure Coursing will be on-site for demos all weekend. Also, the Whiskeys Beer Garden will be open daily, where you’ll be able to listen to live music and grab a bite to eat from the Whiskeys on the Water Food Truck, Different Twist Pretzel, or Smokehouse 52 BBQ. Wash it down with Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktail.
Bark on Biddle will be held June 3 through June 5 at riverside Bishop Park. Let Fido stretch out and rest his paws after the event at the four-star iconic landmark, The Siren Hotel, in nearby Detroit.
Poochella in the Park
Bring your buddy to Poochella in the Park for an afternoon of frolicking, fun, and festivities with the City of Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreation department. Local pet-related vendors will be set up around the park with dog toys and treats. Be sure to treat Fido to a pupcake! Activities will include a Dogsplay costume event and dog tricks competition on Asbery Field, which will be converted into a fenced-in playground and contest area for the day.
Poohchella in the Park will be held on June 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Asbery Field. After all the fun, relax and enjoy views of the water from the tiered wraparound deck at this pet-friendly vacation rental along quiet Maple Cove Road
Forked River Rotary Doggie Derby and Family Fun Day
The annual Forked River Rotary Doggie Derby and Family Fun Day draws more than 1,000 locals and visitors to play, compete, and enjoy fun in the sun for the whole family. Pups can compete for prizes and awards in the categories of "Most Happy Dog," "Best Dressed," "Best Tricks," and "Dog/Owner Look-Alike." Canine and martial arts field demonstrations will be on display, and a wide array of vendors and exhibitors will be on site to showcase products and talents. There will also be games for kids of all ages and a food court. Live music and event announcements will be provided by local radio station WBNJ-FM.
The 2022 Forked River Rotary Doggie Derby and Family Fun Day will be held on June 5 at Jones Road Park. June is the perfect time of year to book a stay at the nearby and historic Grenville Hotel & Restaurant near Bay Head Beach.
SUP for Pups Intracoastal Challenge 2
Bring Fido to Pioneer Park for the SUP for Pups Intracoastal Challenge 2. This event will feature a competitive 5K race, SUP lessons with certified instructors, and free SUP rentals to help clean up the Intracoastal waters after the race. Attendance is free, but the cost to compete is $20. All proceeds benefit Salty Dog Paddle, a nonprofit surf and SUP brand that focuses on saving injured dogs and marine life.
The SUP for Pups Intracoastal Challenge kicks at the Deerfield Beach Pier on June 11 from 7 to 10:30 a.m. After all that paddling, your pooch will be happy to retire to her pet-friendly room at the Comfort Inn Oceanside, situated near the pier.
Benebone x Dogwood Play Park
Benebone is teaming up with Dogwood Play Park, an indoor dog park, for a summer Happy Hour that everyone is sure to enjoy. There will be off-leash fun and games for four-legged friends, and Benebone bingo and adult beverages for human guests. Arrive early, as the first 50 attendees will receive a free drink ticket, and the first 100 will be treated to a Benebone tote with swag and a free dog caricature.
Strut Your Mutt
Bring your pup out to run, strut, and play at the Strut Your Mutt 5K & 1 Mile Furry Scurry and Pet Fair. The event will raise money to support the animals of Blue Ridge Humane Society. After the race, stick around for the pet fair in the park featuring local pet businesses, community groups, and food trucks. All race participants will receive a pet-friendly swag bag.
Register early for the race and pet fair, which kicks off on June 18 at 9 a.m. Enjoy expansive mountain views of Pisgah National Forest at this vacation rental where dogs of any size are welcome for no additional fee.
Fremont Fair Sunday Dog Parade
Come join the pooches promenading at the Fremont Fair Sunday Dog Parade. The Fremont Fair is Seattle’s largest summer craft market, and leashed dogs are welcome at the festival. But on Sunday, dogs are honored with their very own march through the fairgrounds. Register your pup on the Sunday before the event at the Citizens for Off-Leash Areas (COLA) tent. The $20 registration fee benefits COLA, which works to increase and improve the city’s dog parks and areas for pups to exercise and play.
The 2022 Fremont Fair Sunday Dog Parade steps off at 2:30 p.m. on June 19. The nearby Hotel Max is a pet-friendly boutique hotel that offers four-legged guests a pet bed and treats. Human guests receive a free beer at check-in.
World’s Ugliest Dog Contest
The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest is a 30-year tradition at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds that invites canines from all over the world to celebrate the imperfections that make all dogs special. The day begins with pre-contest entertainment and information on pet care and adoption. Each registered pup and handler will then bask in the limelight as they are escorted along the red carpet to show off their unique beauty to the judges, international media, celebrity hosts, and fans. The Grand Prize winner will receive $1,500, and second place and third place trophies and cash prizes will also be awarded. Note that the event is open to all pet parents, but only dogs who are competing can attend the contest.
The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest will be held on June 24 at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds. Continue the celebration in a dreamy cottage-like loft tucked under a giant redwood.
Mutts & Merlot Weekend at KC Wine Co
KC Wine Co cordially invites you and your pooch to Mutts & Merlot Weekend. Stroll out on the farm, explore the vineyards, and look out over the beautiful property with your leashed, four-legged friend at this free event. Guests will be treated to live music, play time in the on-site dog park, outside dining, and outdoor yard games. Dogs must remain leashed, and all human guests must be 21 and over.
Mutts & Merlot Weekend at KC Wine Co will be held on June 25 from noon to 9 p.m. Fido will be happy to rest up after all the excitement at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Olathe South. There is a designated pet relief area on the property.
Paw-sitive Fur Pride: Pet Fashion Show
Let Fido show off his rainbow pride at the Paw-sitive Fur Pride: Pet Fashion Show at The Dog Bar in St. Pete. Your four-legged fashionista can take center stage and win prizes for just being fabulous. There will be two fashion shows and a pop-up shop featuring pup-cycled, zero-waste waste designs by Tailor Sallee. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed “pawtrons.” There will also be a DJ, Food Truck, Jell-O Shots, and 50/50 raffle at the event.
The Paw-sitive Fur Pride: Pet Fashion Show will take place on June 26 from noon to 5 p.m. Spend the night at the pet-friendly BayWaters Inn, where canine guests receive dog bowls and toys, ample treats, and VIP treatment.
