Enjoy the View From Above

For a bird’s-eye view of the Emerald City, take a ‘Seattle Scenic Seaplane Tour’ with Kenmore Air. You and your furry flying ace will enjoy stunning views of the Seattle skyline, Elliot Bay, and Lake Union on this 20-minute flightseeing adventure. Tours are offered several times daily (Thursday to Monday) and start at $99 per person. Lap dogs are welcome for no additional fee, but a seat must be purchased for dogs over 25 lbs. Advance reservations are required. If your pup prefers boats over floatplanes, you can take a self-guided tour of Lake Union in a classic wooden row boat rental from the Center for Wooden Boats.

Your well-traveled pooch will be a VIP guest at the Ace Hotel Seattle, a trendy crash pad located in the heart of the Belltown District. Once a hotel for maritime workers, this minimalist property features loft-style rooms adorned with local artwork. Before settling in for the night, explore the neighborhood with your pup on an evening walk to nearby Olympic Sculpture Park.

Spend the Day in San Juan Island

Anacortes, WA

Hop on board a Washington State Ferry in Anacortes for a trip to San Juan Island. When you arrive at Friday Harbor, ditch the car in favor of a ‘Scoot Coupe’ from Susie’s Mopeds, which will serve as your transportation for the day. Two miles away, you’ll find Jackson Beach, where your dog will enjoy running in the sand. Continue on to San Juan Island National Historical Park to learn about the history of the island and the Pig War. Make a pit stop at Pelindaba Lavender Farm to let Fido roam the purple fields and try a lavender-flavored dog biscuit. Lastly, head over to Lime Kiln Point State Park – a 36-acre park where whales are commonly spotted between May and September. When you complete your loop around the island, refuel with ‘Your New Favorite Turkey Sandwich’ from The Market Chef. There’ll be enough to share with your hungry hound!

If one day on Friday Harbor isn’t enough, spend the night at Earthbox Inn & Spa. Located just four blocks from the Friday Harbor Ferry Landing, the property offers clean, modern accommodations in an ideal location. Enjoy complimentary use of the hotel’s beach cruiser bikes to explore the charming island, schedule a hot beach stone massage, or relax in the heated indoor pool.
