May is an exciting time of year for human and canine revelers. As the days get longer and warmer, the calendar fills with pet-friendly events, festivals, and celebrations. Whether Fido prefers to listen to music on the lawn, get Doggie and Me massages, or try his paw at an agility course, there’s something for every pup on this list.

Marin Humane’s Woofstock

Grab Fido’s leash and bring all his furry friends and family to Woofstock, the Bay Area’s grooviest dog-centric event. Guests on two legs and four will be entertained with music by the premier Eagles cover band, the Illeagles, and opening act Black Cat Bone. Food trucks, beer, and wine will be available. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to watch the show, and be sure your pup remembers to BYOB (bring your own bowl) for the purified water on tap. When you’re ready to stretch your legs, explore the event booths featuring local merchants and animal rescue groups. All proceeds benefit the animals at Marin Humane.

Woofstock 2022 will take place on May 22 from noon to 5 p.m. at Marin Humane. After all that fun, lounge in the private, secure “secret garden” space with your pup at the pet-friendly cottage at Green Gage Farm. The two-acre permaculture farm features an orchard, barnyard, vignette gardens, basket swings, bocce ball lawn, cool fort, chicken coops, hot tubs, infrared sauna, homegrown food, and friendly resident pigs.

Wüffstock Music Festival

Want to dance with your dog in the spring air this May? Get your tickets to see Eve 6 at the 2022 Wüffstock Music Festival. The event aims to celebrate the human-canine bond with live music, food and drink, and, of course, dogs! VIP Tickets are available and include reserved parking and seating, early entrance, drinks in the VIP tent, a Wüffstock poster signed by the band, and a limited edition Wüffstock t-shirt. All proceeds benefit Roice Hurst Humane Society.

Wüffstock Music Festival 2022 will kick off at 2 p.m. on May 14 at the Amphitheater in Las Colonias Park. The Clarion Hotel Grand Junction is a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay near the park.

Doggie Carnival

The Doggie Carnival at Forsyth Park, the largest annual fundraising event by the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, is filled to the brim with fur-raising fun. Four-legged guests can partake in the doggie derby, try out agility equipment, make arts and crafts projects, and much more. There will be dog pools for cooling off in the low country heat and pet treats from Woofgang Bakery to fill hungry puppy tummies. Be sure to grab a cute pic in the “doggie and me” photo booth and #BringFido! Admission to the carnival is free, but tickets are required for food, beer, raffles, and events.

This year’s carnival will be held on May 1 from noon to 4 p.m. Extend your stay in dog-friendly Savannah at this stunning vacation rental, which is just a block from Forsyth Park.

Mother's Day Weekend at Wilburton Inn

Celebrate your canine children in Vermont with a Mother’s Day Weekend stay at Wilburton Inn. The 30-acre estate in Manchester is always exceedingly pet-friendly, but they will truly roll out the red carpet for guests with pups during the weekend of May 6 through 8. The festivities will include a welcome party on Friday, a group stroll through historic Manchester Village, a Princess Ball, a s’mores campfire and pajama party, a Mother's Day breakfast buffet, gift bags for all 2- and 4-legged guests, professional portraits, and more! “Doggie and Me” massages will be available for an additional fee.

The stately Wilburton Inn, tucked in Vermont’s Green Mountains is one of the most elegant mansion hotels in the country, and the pet fee is always waived when the room is booked through BringFido. Participation in the Mother’s Day Weekend extravaganza is an additional $100 per person, and two nights’ lodging at the inn at 20% off regular rates.

Florida Wiener Dog Derby

Bring Fido out for all the floppy-eared fun at the 12th annual Florida Wiener Dog Derby. This year, the race will be held at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park. There are eight racing divisions for all ages and abilities, plus the small breed "Wiener Wannabe Race.” All previous FWDD Champions are invited to attend and proudly display their Grand Champion's "Ween" Jacket. The free event will also include additional contests (like the kissing contest), a silent auction, food trucks, and raffles.

The Florida Wiener Dog Derby kicks off on May 7, starting at 10 a.m. Afterwards, treat your furry champ to a night at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa, a new pet-friendly hotel in Orlando with a view of Disney’s nightly fireworks display.

May Day - Spring Festival and Pet Expo

Take Fido to frolic on the Jersey shore this spring at the annual May Day Spring Festival & Pet Expo. Hosted at Island Beach State Park, the pet expo includes a group dog walk on the sand, pet supply vendors, rescue groups, and K9 demos. There will also be a native plant sale, craft vendors, food, and music on site. Admission is free, but an $8 donation to the Friends of Island State Park non-profit is suggested.

The 2022 May Day Spring Festival & Pet Expo takes place on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Island Beach State Park. While in Jersey, The Asbury is the perfect place to stay with your dog. With a rooftop lounge and a swimming pool area where you can hang out with your pooch and get started on your tan, this sophisticated hotel is also located just a short walk from Wonder Bar and its famous Yappy Hour.

Dog Mother’s Day at Wheeler Historic Farm

Mark your calendars for National Dog Mother's Day at Wheeler Historic Farm! Bring Fido to the farm and enjoy a special beverage and pastry from Petra's Backstubchen, and a treat from Rebel Paw for your pup. Wheeler Historic Farm boasts 75 acres of natural landscape, trails, and backwoods that you are welcome to explore with your pooch. You’ll also want to check out the fun goods from vendors, enjoy a wagon ride to take in the beautiful scenery, and make a special Mother’s Day keepsake with your pup. This event sells out quickly and pre-registration is required.

Dog Mother’s Day at Wheeler Historic Farm will be held on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located within walking distance to downtown and with easy access to the farm, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City is a gem for two- and four-legged visitors. Two pets of any size are welcome here for no additional fee, and canine guests receive treats, bowls, and beds during their stay.

Spring Skunk Music Festival

Funky pups are welcome at the three-day Spring Skunk Music Festival in the foothills of the Appalachians. This pet-friendly music fest is like no other in the U.S. The music lineup features local performers of Americana, Folk, Alt-Country, Acoustic, and Bluegrass music. Local craft vendors join in the fun by selling food and wares like tie-dyed shirts, jewelry, and original art. Festival-goers, known as Skunk-heads, on two legs and four are encouraged to camp over the weekend at Skunk Farm.

The 2022 Spring Skunk Music Festival runs from May 12 to May 14. If you choose not to camp at the event, you and Fido can stay in this charming lakeside guest suite less than three miles from the festival grounds.

Pooch Palooza Dog Festival

Pooch Palooza Dog Festival is a day-long event entirely focused on fun for Fido. Does your pup want to give dock diving a try? Or maybe you think he’d be a total ace at lure chasing. Agile canines will surely want to dash over to the FastFetch game. If your furry best friend is a little less spry, he may prefer to enter the dog cover model search, the canine pie eating contest, costume contest, or tennis ball lottery.

This dog-tastic event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 14 at Frontier Town Western Theme Park. After all that fun, your pooch will be happy to retire to this cozy waterfront Beach House, where he can catch some zzzs for no additional fee.

Rockaway Pet Parade

Bring Fido to strut his stuff at the first ever Rockaway Pet Parade. Hosted by The Pet Lady, Dana Humphrey, this event will be an afternoon of promenading pups, followed by an epic “After Pawy-ty” on the boardwalk. Prizes from local vendors will be presented to the winning dogs in the categories of Overall Best Dressed, Most Energetic Dog, Best Trick/Most Obedient Dog, Funniest Dog, and Best Matching. Vendors will also be on hand for additional treats and goodies for attendees on two legs and four. The $5 entry fee will benefit the charity partner, Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc.

The parade will step off at noon on May 14. While in the Big Apple, you and your pup can snuggle up at the exclusive Roxy Hotel Tribeca.

Bark Around The Park

Want to show off Fido’s many talents? Bark Around the Park is just the place to put his skills on display. The arena will be packed with exciting demonstrations and displays, including canine performers from the Bone-a fied Talent Group and Dream Weavers Agility Demos. Be sure to sign your pooch up for the Showbiz 101 Workshop! There will also be an AKC Match Show, a fun Crazy Dog Show, the Dog-Lympics, a Costume Contest, and the Let's Play Show Dog game. Join the fun, buy a bandana, and have a blast taking part with your dog at this entertaining event.

Bark Around the Park will be held on May 15 starting at 8 a.m. Stay in Lehigh Valley at the historic Glasbern Inn, tucked away on a peaceful and secluded 130-acre, 19th-Century farm. Fido will love the walking trails on the property, and you’ll appreciate the on-site spa and pub.

Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival

Dominion Energy Riverrock is an action-packed outdoor sports and music festival at Brown’s Island and Historic Tredegar Iron Works. Dogs are welcome throughout the weekend, but they can also star in two of the festival’s main events. The Filthy 5k Mud Run involves slogging through a massive mud pit, and you can enter your pooch in the Dog Wave. He will be thrilled to romp over trails, across a river, and finally, splash into the mud. All dogs must be leashed, and only one dog per human is permitted on the course. If racing in the mud is not his thing, your pup can test his dock-diving skills at Subaru Ultimate Air Dogs. Admission to the festival is free, but there are additional fees to participate in the Subaru Ultimate Air Dogs event and Filthy 5k Mud Run.

Dominion Energy Riverrock 2022 will take place from May 20 through 22. After your day of festival fun, treat your pooch like royalty at the luxurious and historic Jefferson Hotel.

Auburn’s Petpalooza and Dog Trot

Auburn’s Petpalooza is an annual day-long celebration of pets and pet lovers at Game Farm Park. The festivities kick off with the Dog Trot 3K/5K Fun Run and continue with live entertainment from the widely popular All-Alaskan Racing Pigs, agility and frisbee demos with Seattle FlyDogs Sports Club, and a variety of pet contests. There’s also yummy food, vendor booths, giveaways, and activities to keep both humans and pups entertained. Admission is free, but registration for the dog trot/fun run starts at $18 per person.

Auburn’s Petpalooza 2022 will be held on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fido will be happy to rest up after all the excitement at the La Quinta Inn & Suites Auburn. There is a designated pet relief area on the property.

Unleashed: Dinner With Your Dog

Support homeless and adoptable pets while enjoying a unique rave party and a plant-based dinner with your two- and four-legged friends at Unleashed: Dinner With Your Dog. There will be fantastic entertainment by a runway of lovable NHA shelter dogs guided by Nashville celebrities, friends, and supporters. In addition to the dinner and celebrity dog walk, Unleashed includes a silent and live auction with some of the finest Nashville-themed gifts and services benefiting homeless and adoptable animals all throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

Unleashed: Dinner With Your Dog will be served on May 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Loews Vanderbilt Nashville. Spend the night at the pet-friendly hotel, where canine guests receive dog bowls and placemats, ample treats, and VIP treatment.

Frankenmuth Dog Bowl

The largest Olympic-style dog event in the world is held each May in Frankenmuth, MI. The Frankenmuth Dog Bowl invites guests to cheer on canine athletes as they jump, dive, and retrieve with events like disc dog competitions, a barn hunt, sheep herding, and agility courses. You can also register your pet to compete in some of the 22 events (ranging from races to silly pet trick competitions), enjoy a canine cruise on the Bavarian Belle riverboat, or let them loose in the on-site doggie play park and kiddie pool. On Sunday, a Dog Bowl King and Queen are crowned and honored as the Grand Marshals of the pet parade that follows. The festival is part of Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, Inc., a nonprofit organization that advocates for responsible pet ownership and supports charitable endeavors such as police canine training programs to promote safer communities, defraying medical and adoption costs for families in need, and funding pet-related military and service organizations.

The Frankenmuth Dog Bowl will be held on May 28 and 29. Experience Michigan's Little Bavaria with Fido by your side at the pet-friendly Drury Inn & Suites Frankenmuth, located in the heart of the town on Main Street.
