Introduction to Scent Work -Leverett

3-Session Intro to Scent Work starting on May 6th, ending May 20th. Have you wondered if your dog would like a playful version of what Search and Rescue dogs do for real? Wondered just what it’s all about? Dogs are aware of a world beyond our senses—a world they can smell. Think of airport sniffer dogs, search and rescue dogs, hunting dogs—we couldn’t do what they do because we don’t have the scent receptors they have! Come to our 3-session mini-course to get started! Utilizing the dog’s strongest sense, their sense of smell, owners learn to read the subtleties of their dog’s body language communication while exploring the world of scent as their dog lives it. Dogs tend to adore this sport and it’s a great way to positively engage and also tire them (especially helpful during inclement weather)! Your dog is the scent expert and it’s a joy to see dog/handler relationships grow and expand through this work. As with all Dakin classes, we will use positive approaches to achieve your goals. This workshop is open to dogs of all ages who have some basic training skills and who are dog and human friendly.
