Dog swimming at Big Bear?

I was always curious whether dogs were permitted to swim at Big Bear Lake. Are there certain dog friendly swim areas, or is it restricted completely? Any insight would be helpful, thanks!

Did you ever find out about the dog beach you mentioned on your post, did you find out, how was it? We are going up in a couple of weeks and definitely want to take Murphy for a swim. Thanks!
