Travelling from Sao Paulo to Curitiba with dog

This august I'm moving to Curitiba for at least 1 year. I'm coming with my dog and the only North American airline that will let me travel with my dog at this time of year is United. Unfortunately, I can only go as far as Sao Paulo by plane. Does anyone have info on the best way to get to Curitiba from Sao Paulo with a dog and a large kennel?
