Can anyone recommend a great affordable small cabin in California ?

I'll be traveling with a good friend and her sweet dog. We want a place to sit and stay and hang out and talk. Preferably an affordable cabin in the woods somewhere. Anywhere within 3-4 hours of the SF Bay Area. We've found places like this before that we've loved, but now none of them seem to be dog friendly. I've found some on here by searching this site, but experience and first hand references are so much better! Any recommendations? (Cambria/Big Sur/Sonoma/Sonoma Coast/Jenner/Russian River Area...Gold Country?)
