moving to milan with large dog

we are moving to Milan for one year with 2 children and large dog (Vizsla). Are there any laws about registering dog on arrival? Also where will be the best places to walk him in the city (we have to live east for school and work). A bit nervous about bringing him as unsure about attitude to dogs in Milan
