Pit bull attack

On May 24, 2015 our dog was attacked at the dog park by a vicious pit bull.
$187 vet bill. Pit bull owner took off while we we we mopping blood. Please prohibit this breed unleashed or muzzled. Our.dog could have been killed. Thank you 703-590-0363

Sorry for your dogs injury, dog parks can be the worst place for dog introductions. This is more of a ownership issue rather than breed. Our staffie(pit type dog) has been in a daily play date group for years. With dogs under 10 pounds to larger than her. Dog parks can be a real problem as people bring dogs with no social skills and try them out to see how they do with other dogs. I would be careful with dog parks, look for ones that have active owners and dogs that are interacting or ignoring each other, that is ok too.
