Off leash in Acadia?

We are considering bringing 2 dogs for a family vacation in Acadia National Park. When we came up with this, we were picturing the dogs walking trails with us off-leash. I see that there's a rule that dogs have to be on a leash and I'm wondering if that rule is actually observed/enforced in the park. Appreciate your feedback!
