Dog park Fees

Not sure if this has ever been asked on the forum, but I am having trouble finding a dog park in Maryland that doesn't have some sort of fee.
What do dog owners do when they are traveling and just passing through a town? I want to be able to let my dog out of the car for a bit to stretch her legs. If I was staying in an area I would pay a weekly fee I guess, but for just a drive through... what should I do?
