The Cottage at Highfield Park

The Cottage at Highfield Park

Down a private driveway and nestled between the pine trees of one of the areas historic landmark properties, you will find,

The Cottage at Highfield Park.

This private and tastefully renovated, two-bedroom cottage provides the perfect home away from home for your carefree Mornington Peninsula getaway. The 3.5 acre property boasts 200 apple trees, pony paddocks and a couple of sheep set in beautiful, tranquil gardens.
Ideally located on the Mornington Peninsula’s Westernport Bay area, opposite French Island, it is an hour from the CBD using Eastlink/Peninsula Link. The property is close to swimming and surf beaches, local marinas, famous boutique wineries, award winning restaurants, farm-gate shops, antique stores, open-air markets, and so many more attractions that the region has to offer.

The Cottage sits in the grounds of a private property known as Highfield Park, where the owners reside in the main house.
With the advent of the COVID-19 virus, we have updated all of our cleaning and sanitation standards as set out by the Department of Health & Human Services, to ensure that your stay is as safe as possible.

Bring your partner, the children, or your friends, and bring the dog too. We would like to invite you to come and collect the pine cones, listen to the birds, relax and breathe the fresh air!

The Cottage –
Outside, The Cottage is set in its own private, fenced in garden. There is a seperate driveway with designated parking. We offer contactless access to adhere to social - distancing guidelines. There is a large deck with a gas bbq, as well as outdoor furniture. This is the perfect spot to enjoy dinner on a balmy night, sipping some local wine.
There is a soccer net and playhouse, as well as a lovely garden for the children and dogs to run around and explore.

Inside, The Cottage is fully self-contained. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds made up with quality linen. We can provide a fold up bed for a small child or porta-cot for a baby if required. All linen and towels etc are provided.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with all the modern conveniences you might need to whip up a meal, if you feel inclined. There is a Nespresso coffee machine, for which we will supply the pods, as well as a selection of teas. There will be fresh bread in the bread-box, homemade jam, milk and butter in the fridge. The biscuit jar will also have a supply of our famous shortbread for you to enjoy.

The comfortable lounge has a wall mounted TV. A three-seater sofa and two comfortable armchairs help to set a relaxing scene…just add a book and a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and relax. There is also a fire for the cooler months. Wood for the fire is supplied by the trees felled on the property. Books, DvDs and board games are also available.

The bathroom is bright and airy and newly renovated.

This is a dog friendly property. The Cottage is fully fenced. The owners have a West Highland terrier, called Harry. So, if you like to travel with your dog, it will be most welcome at The Cottage. There is a small charge of $20.00 per night, for 1-2 dogs, maximum. Dog bed can be supplied. Please note that we are not able to accomodate cats.

A perfect location to explore the Peninsula.
The Mornington Peninsula is a complete package. From its beautiful beaches with their quaint bathing huts to the vast farmland with livestock and vineyards and the walking trails within. The Highfield Cottage was a perfect retreat set on acreage with a very private fully enclosed garden for children or pooches to explore. It would be a wonderful Easter egg hunt location. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome and we could relax knowing they were safe. The cottage has been beautifully appointed, equipped with most things you may need for your stay. The beds were sumptuous and the shower with its rainfall head, a great temperature. The owners are generous with staples and treats of coffee pods, milk, bread, butter, jam and homemade shortbread. Relax and enjoy. .

A Little Gem
My partner and I stayed at the cottage for a few days and it was lovely. The location is quiet, and our hostess was incredibly welcoming. The cottage was spacious, the kitchen, bathroom and living room are well fitted and supplied. Only a good 30mins drive from all the wineries in the local area. Would love to visit again, in fact you can count on it.

Perfectly Comfortable
We realy enjoyed our stay at Highfield Park Cottage. Very well appointed little place, with everything you could ask for. Easy to find and deal with the friendly owners - We'd be more than happy to stay here again next time we're in the area. It's about 15 minutes from everywhere so it's convenient too.
