Here’s the beach hack for this location for dog owners. Drive back under highway 1 and turn right on Dunes Drive. Take that all the way to the end and there’s a trail to the beach where you can take your dog(s). They must be leashed, but I figure that’s a small price to pay for the protection of the endangered snowy plover.

The room was clean, the dog areas were kept clean and large enough for pooch to walk a bit. There is highway noise from nearby Highway 1 (was actually great at socializing our pup not to be fearful). The nearby beach does not allow pets but that’s not a problem with other pet friendly beaches a close drive away.

The hotel sits on a hill above a Denny’s Restaurant. They just finished some nice landscaping around the checkin area so you have to take your doggie to the other side of the parking lot to do his business. There’s plenty of walkways and dirt areas (limited grass). You can’t leave them unattended in the room, but it’s Fall and he just slept in the car while we had dinner in Monterey. The room was comfortable and mostly clean (it did not smell). They should check under the fridge more often. Since the hotel is on a hill our view from the first floor was nice. The beach is just a few blocks away. Overall I am very happy with my stay with my doggie. I would stay there again.

The room was very nice. I did not expect it when booking with Motel 6. The room was clean with modern features. The floor was manufactured wood so it was easy to keep clean. There was even a little booth like seat by the in room table that my little girl loved to sit on. We will stay here again.

The price was great for 2 adults + 2 dogs! Room was small, but clean. Even though we arrived at 3pm, our room wasn’t ready until 4pm.

I accidentally booked another hotel for the wrong weekend and we ended up finding this motel at the very last minute. Customer service on BringFido’s and the motel’s end were great. We have 2 big pibbles, so I’m thankful we were able to find a place since most of the other spots only accepted 1 dog or dogs under 40lbs.
Our first room smelled like cigarettes, but we were able to move to another room right away. Though BringFido says that crated pets can be left unattended, we were told that pets couldn’t be left in the rooms unattended.
The room was clean. Body soap is provided, but I think you have to request shampoo. Water isn’t available in the room, but there are vending machines.
I recommend the dog friendly beach near by at the Marina Dunes Reserve if you’d like to tire your pups out.

This motel was dirty and provided less than the bare minimum. We indicated we had 4 people staying in the room and they gave us 2 towels, The windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of them, and the exterior of the building was in desperate need of attention. They overcharge for absolutely terrible accommodations. They provide a single cup coffee pot with one packet of coffee but no cup to actually hold the coffee. This place is a joke. Oh, and hopefully your dog will use the tiny patch of grass to do their business because the courtyard with all the grass does not allow pets. Don’t waste your money here. This place is trash.

Rooms look like they are never cleaned. Dog hair all over the place... garbage bits on the floor. Ick. Front desk person (one of them) extremely rude about online booking and made a huge case over how I was asking to bend rules since i made an extra night reservation online (that the other front desk person suggested i do when i was rushing off at 5am for a project) and this lady demanded i leave work to come back to motel (an hour away) to resign paperwork. Also, the entire “pet friendly” outdoor areas (which are a minefield of unscooped poos in all stages of decomposition ) are literally a solid field of foxtail. If you don’t know what this is, it is one of the main hazards to dogs in this area. If it gets in their fur, the muscle contractions can cause the bullet like seeds to work their way in like a porcupine quill and migrate fatally into your dogs spine, brain, organs. Extremely irresponsible for a “dog friendly” place to keep grounds like this.

Our room is exactly what we expected from Motel 6. We were informed at check in that there was an area for dogs to take care of their business (trash bags provided and trash can was near). We were lucky that our room was only steps away from the area to take our dog. The only complaint I have is that walls were too thin. We could hear our next door neighbors talk too late at night or too early in the morning and our dog was constantly barking. We discovered that the beach was a few blocks away, however there were signs posted that dogs were not allowed on the beach.
