Lovely Dog-Friendly Vacation!
We absolutely adored our trip to The Retreat at Sky Ridge- humans and dogs all in agreement! It has been so difficult to find clean, well-maintained and beautiful resorts that allow our large dogs to stay with us and we are so happy that we’ve found this place!
They had dog bowls (one with water, ready to go) and offer dog towels in their office- along with lots of movies, games, fishing equipment, etc. Our girls LOVED staying here and exploring the grounds (we didn’t have them go swimming but they would have loved to!).
We stayed at Cabin 10 (The Ranger Station) and had the most gorgeous views of the Ozarks and Beaver Lake. The cabin has a pretty large porch with two rocking chairs, a small side table, and a swinging bench. We enjoyed quite a few mimosas out there listening to the sounds of nature! Instead was a full kitchen (the refrigerator worked perfectly- our champagne stayed nice and cold!) with a little dining area. We loved that they included a doggy bag of treats for our large dogs, that was so thoughtful!
The living room had a nice set up with a large couch, chair, and a few tables. The TV got a few channels but we really only watched movies that we borrowed from the office’s extensive movie collection (seriously such a HUGE selection!). The bed was extremely comfortable and with two nightstands/dressers and two closets, we had way more room for clothes and extras that we needed! The bathroom was huge with a large shower and GIANT two person whirlpool bathtub. The bathtub overlooked the gorgeous view outside and was by far my favorite part of the cabin.
The resort is like 10-15 minutes from Eureka Spring’s historic downtown with tons of shopping and restaurants.

A great vacation with the dogs
I was so excited to find a place that I could take my 2 big dogs. Usually I have to plan on camping if I wanted to take my dogs. I just happened upon the Retreat at Sky Ridge when I was on Bring Fido. This was the best place ever. They where so welcoming of the dogs.
I had originally planned to go with just my dogs but my sister and mother found out I was going and invited themselves. The cabin was perfect for us. I think my sister and mother were a little worried about the accommodations because when they walked into the cabin they were all "Oh and Ah" as we walked in. The dogs where even pleased with the accommodations. They found a vermin in the cabin right off the bat. Too bad it was just a ceramic armadillo on the mantel of the fire place.
We spend the days hiking around the property and shopping in Eureka Springs, then watching movies by the fire at night. I wish we had more time there. We are planning on going back.
I also want to give a shout out to Eureka Springs. I was worried about taking my two big dogs in to the shops even though every were I looked it said dogs are welcomed. "Dogs welcomed" usually means the little purse dogs and not two big dogs. I had planned to leave the dogs in the car (this is fall and cool) while I went in to a few shops. As I walked into the shops I noticed water bowls by the shop doors and other people with dogs, so I got my two out of the car and let them walk around a little. The dogs were a hit and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Note my dogs are fairly well behaved, especially after being exercised to burn off energy. I keep an eye on them and require that they use their manners in public.
I plan to go back soon with just me and the dogs. There are hiking trails to explore.

The very best lodging!
We just returned from a week at The Retreat at Sky Ridge and I must say we couldn't have been happier!
We searched extensively for the perfect place to stay, and knew instantly that we had to stay here!
Other offerings in the Eureka Springs area were nice, but many either didn't allow pets, or charged exorbitant prices or additional daily rates to bring a dog. Also, the other cabin rentals were so close together that we probably would've heard the folks in the next cabin snoring!
At The Retreat at Sky Ridge, the cabins are far enough apart that they're barely visible one from another! Seclusion, privacy, comfort, serenity, quaint, and so many more complimentary adjectives I can't think of right now!
Our dog was so happy as were we!
Cabin #5, The Colonel Barkley, was perfect for us! We will most assuredly be returning and highly recommend!

The Retreat at Sky Ridge was an excellent getaway for me, my boyfriend and my pup! No pet fee, doggie treats upon check in, a cute bag of dog goodies plus dog food and water bowls in the cabin. There was even a doggie wash station on the grounds and a trunk of old towels to dry off your pup in the check-in cabin. Our cabin was clean and comfortable with unique decorations that gave it personality. The cabins are set apart from each other so you have privacy and a large front window gives a nice view of the foliage. It's away from main roads so it's peaceful, too. The cabins include a kitchen so we saved money cooking instead of needing to eat out every meal. The fireplace was a nice touch for December. Great attention to detail overall--very homey. There are even movies and games to borrow at the check-in building for a cozy night in. Very friendly owners with great suggestions of what to do around the area. Highly recommend staying here--we want to go back! (We went in December and really enjoyed exploring the Eureka Springs area in the off season.)

The cabin was adorable. Very pet friendly. Even had a doggie treat bag waiting for our dog when we arrived. Loved the porch. Our family spent a lot of time sitting out on the porch visiting. Handy grill justoff the porch.
Only draw back was the sofa sleeper was terribly uncomfortable. One night maybe but multi nights just not acceptable. The matress in the bedroom was great. The large invisiting hot tub style tub was just a tub as the jets, etc... didnt' work.
The office had moview we could use for free, fishing poles for the pond, etc...
Overall very very nice. We would return but work something else out on the second bed with them. Even just an air matress.
Enjoyed our stay and great places to eat all around. Lots of other activities to do when you get there.
