    Dogs are allowed at Lakewood Camping Resort Inc, but they must be kept on a leash (6' max length) when outside your vehicle. Handicap and law enforcement dogs, though not classified as pets must abide by all pet rules. Certification must be provided at check-in. Only small, non-aggressive, quiet pets are permitted. Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, Akitas, Chow Chows, German Shepherds and Dalmatians are not allowed in the resort. The afore mentioned pets, if brought onto Lakewood's property, must be placed in a local kennel at the pet owner's expense. Pets are not permitted to leave your campsite boundary without supervision. Pets that make noise or create any other nuisance must be placed in a local kennel at the pet owner's expense. Pets are prohibited from all public buildings and pool areas year 'round. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 9 a.m. And 5 p.m. from May 15 through September 15. Pet owners must clean up after their pet. Lakewood Camping Resort Inc has a half mile stretch of sandy beach for easy access to Myrtle Beach. Located on the South end of Myrtle Beach with shopping, dining, and entertainment just minutes away. The young and young at heart will enjoy the outdoor pool with slide, or challenge the family to compete in Water Wars, a water balloon toss your whole family will enjoy! Take a ride on their Hippo Slide, a 30 foot high inflated water slide on their oceanfront. Amenities include WiFi, Trading Post camp store, laundry room, 12 bathhouses, dump station, fish cleaning station, air pump, propane, golf car and other rentals.

      Excellent vacation spot!

      My family has been going to Lakewood for 30 years and I really enjoy the wonderful hospitality and welcoming atmosphere at Lakewood. They are great with dogs and many campers have dogs with them. There is a rule about barking so you don’t have to worry about barking dogs disturbing your vacation. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9am and after 5pm so it’s nice to enjoy some beach time when it’s not so busy on the beach. You can’t bring dogs into any of the buildings but you can walk around the campground with them. I’ve never had a problem and have brought my dog 3 times. If you are renting a villa, only dogs under 40lbs are allowed but there is no size limit if you have your own camper. There are rules about aggressive and noisy dogs so be sure to check the pet policy before booking. I would highly recommend Lakewood for a nice, enjoyable family vacation.
