    Book the Yome

We stayed in the Yome with our pups and it was great. By far the best camping experience with our pup. The dog parks are huge, the maintenance staff was so friendly and really took care of the grounds.

    5 Bone Review from Eddie!

Check out Eddie.sweetsweet & camping_with_clarabelle on Instagram to see highlights of our time at Four Paws Kingdom Campground: Eddie loved being able to swim, run, and play in the various play parks. We would “park hop” until finally I’d have to bribe him to come rest. The campground is in it’s 2nd year of new ownership and working to make improvements. There’s sites where you can have your rig fenced in, but we didn’t book one because it was reserved. We did have a site with a fenced in area, but Eddie wanted to be closer with us.

The sites have picnic tables, fire rings & garbage cans. There’s firewood & ice at the office and it can be brought to you if needed. The WiFi and cell service are spotty, but we were busy playing! The bathrooms, laundry, & pet washing area are convenient - very nice & clean! The staff are very nice and Eddie got to play with the sweet pups that live there. Also, there’s fun stuff to do at Lake Lure & Chimney Rock and it’s not too far away. Eddie was able to kayak and play a little in the river and then when we got back to Four Paws, he would play some more!

    Amazing Experience

We stayed in a cabin, and when you stay in a cabin you think it might not be as clean as you hope, so we brought plenty of cleaning supplies. Thankfully, the place was spotless, and we were able to just focus on having a great time! There was a small kitchenette which was handy, although we did also dine in the pavilion. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and there was cable TV. It really was a cozy home from home. One of the best things was that we could bring the cat too! Obviously, the cat isn’t allowed in the off-leash areas, but it was easier not having to worry about leaving anyone at home. There was plenty of activities for Bear, our Great Pyrenees, including running around the fenced off-leash areas, swimming in the pond, and working out in the agility park. She was worn-out at the end of each day and slept through the night! That was a big bonus! There’s also a dog-walking service, which we took advantage of, and we were able to take our time to visit the winery and some of the eateries in the nearby town of Rutherfordton, and to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains. Really, this is a beautiful part of the world, and it was an amazing experience for everyone, furry or not.

    Perfect for pets and people!

I wish we had found this place years ago! We traveled from Atlanta, and it was well worth it as I don’t think there’s anywhere else in the whole of America that works so well for both dogs and humans. Lots of activities--several dog parks, swimming pond, beautiful walks. The fur babies loved the agility course, and the washing station made bath-time easy, which was necessary after they splashed around in the pond! Best of all, they made some great friends! What more could you ask for? We have already made our next reservation.

    WOW, what a great time!

This place is ah-mazing! Seriously! I was a little hesitant beings it was our first time there. We stayed in the Stella cabin and it was spotless! My 1 year old dog had the best time of her life doing the lure course on Saturday morning and then playing in the pond. Brought so much joy to my heart to see my 15 year old have a good time at the pond too. SO much fun! We will def be back. Some tips for those of you who are staying in the cabins: -bring hand soap for the bathroom as they don't provide it (they do provide Dawn for the dishes though). Ask for an event calendar for the weekend - I wasn't aware of some of the events they had until I saw it on the board by the pavilion

    Bella loved it!

Our Labradoodle Bella simply loved this place. Lots of activities, mostly friendly dogs (some just can’t handle her beauty I guess), dog washing station, friendly owners and nice lots. Dogs and dog lovers will certainly enjoy!

    Super fun, dog-friendly place

The campground is well maintained and set up for major puppy dog happiness. We’ve been twice and both visits were equally wonderful. My fur kids and I look forward to returning again.

    Amazing campground for dogs!

4 Paws is such a fun adventure. The park is full of dog lovers and there are multiple dog parks throughout the property. The owners are very involved and take pride in their business. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. I highly recommend booking ahead of time for their event weekends to secure a spot with a private dog area.

    One Of The Best Ever

The facilities, RV sites, hosts, amenities and location are all awesome. Our little pup, Lucy, had a great weekend and we were finally able to "wear her out"! So much to do for the dogs and their humans. We had a great time, Lucy thoroughly enjoyed it, we made new friends and Lucy learned to do the agility course too. It was only our second time there but we will certainly be back! Thank you Paul and Gabby for the outstanding weekend!

    Great!

We love going to Four Paws Campground. So relaxing with our big German Shepard. The sites are large with many fenced private yards. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The grounds are very clean.
They strive to have activities for the dogs such as lure coursing, big fenced play yards, and a wonderful pond for dog swimming. They also offer amenities such as live music, catered dinners on certain dates. Check out their event calendar. My husband and I visit in the spring, summer and fall.

    Dog Parent HEAVEN

Our dogs were the happiest they’ve ever been! We had the most enjoyable time here. The facilities are secure and VERY clean! There are so many amenities for our pups and us! We rented a deluxe site and our friends (who don’t have an RV) booked a rental! They have a ton of rental options for those without RVs. This place was so amazing and such a fun experience! We are already booking our next trip!

    4 PAWS & 4 THUMBS UP!

We just stayed here with our 11 mo old lab mix. She LOVED it! We LOVED it! Definitely going back. The new owner is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. We even set up a bath with Emily the morning we were leaving so we had one less thing to do. You must check this place out!

Fun Weekend at Four Paws Kingdom Campground

Dog heaven! We spent the weekend with our two small pups in the Stella cabin. I'm not a huge fan of camping but this cabin made it feel more like "glamping" for me - I was really impressed with how nice it was. The cabin was well maintained and very clean with an equipped kitchen area, bathroom with shower, and TVs (although no time to watch!). We just needed to bring our own bedding and linens. It was nice having a covered porch and fenced-in yard for the pups to run around. We noticed the other cabins and a lot of the RV sites also had their own fenced yards. Plus, there are several dog parks along with two big ponds for dogs to splash around. Our pups were definitely wiped out from all the playing and exploring! The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and you can always see them buzzing around on their golf carts. The camp store was cute with a "Bark Bar" area filled with a variety of dog treats. Human items, s'mores packs, camping supplies, firewood, and souvenirs are also available. And even though the campground is filled with dogs, it was super quiet at night - we're guessing all the dogs were tired from playing all day! We will definitely be back.

    Great experience!

We accompanied our dog Roxann to 4 Paws on the last weekend they were open. We stayed in Stella, one of the permanent cabins that was surprisingly well equipped and comfortable, and Roxann loved being able to meander around our site without our having to worry about her. It was COLD that weekend, but the trees were still very colorful. The campfire was GREAT - even though Roxann, who is afraid of the slightest noise, took a while to get used to it. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable, relaxing, and peaceful weekend - and plan to go back in the spring. Thanks to the new owners and management team for a fun weekend for two older folks and their beloved dog!

    Extremely Disappointed

My most recent stay was the weekend of 11/13/20-11/16/20. My mother and I booked a cabin and one of the permanent RV’s. Since November 13, 2020 was the 7th anniversary of my daughter’s death we needed a relaxing getaway, particularly since COVID had dashed any dreams of a real vacation this year. I stayed in the RV with my two corgis (and two kittens) and my mom stayed in the cabin with her two corgis. The night we arrived (Friday) we put the dogs on the deck of the RV so that I could get the kittens settled in. The dogs were barking because there was a crowd at the fire pit talking and laughing. I was aware and monitoring them and had every intention of bringing them in as soon as I was done with getting things settled. After about 15-20 minutes we hear someone calling us outside so when I stepped out they asked if we were missing a corgi. One of my mother’s corgis had somehow gotten out, off the deck. I went with leash in hand and retrieved her. I was then lectured on making sure I supervise the dogs and if they are outside one of us must be out with them. The last thing said to me was “I need to know you’ve got this.” It was very condescending and upsetting. On Sunday morning we were sitting on the deck with the dogs and all of a sudden I see my mom’s corgi (same one) running around outside of our fenced area. We were supervising the dogs, as requested, and yet here she is running around. I again retrieved her and secured her in the RV with the other dogs while my mother and I did a search of how she could be getting out. There were no holes in the yard fence. She couldn’t have jumped the railing, she’s a corgi. I started looking for an opening around the RV. Sure enough there was a huge opening under the steps to the door of the RV!!! I was furious!!! We starting picking up large rocks from the yard and used some of our firewood to barricade the opening. My mother called the office to let them know. They came out, looked at it and basically blew it off saying they’d fix it after we left. No apology for the broken opening or for chastising us for something that wasn’t our fault!! The dog could have seriously injured herself underneath that RV.
We had stayed at 4Paws once before in 2019 and had such an incredible experience that we spent weeks looking forward to this visit only to be completely disappointed. The RV was poorly maintained. We left so disappointed that we do not plan on going back anytime soon.
It should be noted that only a couple of weeks after our stay it was announced that Connie and Sandy had sold 4Paws to another couple. I felt like this explained why everything seemed so subpar from our last visit.
We spent almost $700 for this weekend, not to mention the gas and expense to get there and if we had been able to, we would have just left Sunday morning. I was disgusted with how this was handled.
I hope the new owners are more conscientious about maintaining the property.

    Amazing Dog-Loving Campground

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time with our dog. It's an adult only park with little cabins, yurts, and hookups for RV's. The park includes several dog parks in which the fur babies can play. My husband and I could not stop smiling at all the frolicking and action between our dog and other dogs. They have a pond in which puppies can swim, and a dedicated dog wash station to wash off all the FUN afterwards. Everyone is so nice here and we will DEFINITELY be back.

    Great Stay with Dogs!

Our family loved it here! We have 2 boxers 14 months old and they loved being able to run around in the parks. They enjoyed swimming at the dog pond park too and getting to know the owners! The park is so well kept and clean, and the campsite we stayed at had a deck with a fenced area for our boys. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay!!

Dog Heaven - Camper Heaven !

Been traveling in a 19ft campervan for two weeks with two dogs and two adults. We needed a break and got that break and more.
Bathrooms are clean and ac. Dog parks are incredible. Staff is friendly.
We'd stay forever if we could. No idea how to keep this place so well maintained. There are not allot of campers here, a weekend after July. So the dogs have most of it to themselves.
100% awesome. I work with rescues, and I will send all my dog loving friends here for now on.

    Dog paradise

Everything is built with dogs in mind - there is even a service to check on/walk your dog if you're out for the day. The dog parks are perfect for old dogs like mine (he did the agility course yay!), swimmers, athletic dogs and everything in between. We stayed in the yurt which was clean, welcoming and well stocked. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and the camp store is well supplied. Super quiet at night, convenient to the horse park & dog-friendly wineries. Perfect places to make memories w/ your dog(s) w/ dog savvy, outgoing staff.

    Doggone good time

We spent 4 nights here in a travel trailer. Ignore the poor ratings. The people here are fabulous. We added a day with no hassle when on the road. We cancelled a day when we encountered an emergency, no problem.
The sites here are quite large. They have Rv sites, campers for rent, cabins for rent and yurts.
7 dog parks that are completely fenced in including big dog, little dog, main, agility, lure, private and pond.
Each werkend they have activities. We were here during a 4th of July weekend and the pulled chicken dinner was amazing!
Bathrooms are spotless. Rv sites have water, sewer, electric, WiFi and they pick up garbage from your site twice a day.
Firewood and ice are delivered to your site.
    AT&T has no signal here.
    No one under 18 allowed.

    A howling good Halloween

One of the best campgrounds I have ever camped in! Sandy and Connie know the true meaning of customer service.

We camped in site #12 (Benji) for three fun filled nights. Our dog, Pasha, took full advantage of all of the amenities #FourPaws had to offer. She swam in the lake, played with her other four pawed friends in the dog park, and enjoyed shopping in the store for snacks. The fenced area at our site was an added bonus.

Bark-or-treating was the highlight of our stay. We'll definitely be back next Halloween weekend.

Question the Other Reviews on This Site

The two 1-bone reviews that have recently been posted on this site don't sound like the Connie & Sandy we know. They have always been more than accommodating for any issues that arise with reservations. We would recommend that you call Four Paws to discuss any concerns you might have after reading these reviews. In our opinion, these two reviewers must have done something pretty bad to get that kind of reaction from them.
