    Cozy and convenient!

Crabtree's Kittle House truly exceeded our expectations and was a great experience. We were looking for a place to overnight mid-way between visiting family in Maine and our home near Washington, DC that could accommodate our cat, and chose the Kittle House primarily for its convenient location and pet policy, and secondarily because we are familiar with the general area and knew we could find a decent place to have dinner and we try to avoid chain hotels.

We found it completely charming! Beautiful location (great neighborhood for walking/running), cute room as long as you are OK with country inn shabby chic, and we ended up eating downstairs in the tavern and had a wonderful meal with great service. They also provide a great continental breakfast with wonderful local ingredients in the morning, which was great for travelers looking to get on the road efficiently. Highly recommend for a stay or just for dinner as long as you are looking for cozy B&B vibes vs. a Hilton/Marriott environment. We will be making this a regular halfway stop on trips to New England!

    Wonderful stay

Crabtree's was ideal for our two dogs--who total more than 100lb (beyond most local pet-friendly hotels). But beyond that, Crabtree's is in a lovely part of Chappaqua--great for a dog walk--very quiet. The staff were friendly and attentive, room was large and warm, and dinner delivered to our room was excellent! The dogs were very happy with our little vacation at Crabtree's Kittle House!!

Zero Bones for Crabtree's Kittle House

Hello, I just tried to rate this zero bones but I had to select at least one bone to submit this survey. I want you to know that my rating is zero bones. Here is a description of what we experienced at Crabtree's Kittle House on Sept. 19, 2021. I called yesterday to let the rep who answered know about our terrible stay at this expensive, "supposedly, pet-friendly hotel, Crabtree's Kittle House" and he said I needed to submit the survey also. We needed a last minute hotel as we were stuck on Highway 87, that was backed up due to an accident. The reports were saying there was a 3 hour back up so I did a search online and found BringFido, read the reviews and found the Kittle House, which was close to our location.

So we decided to pay the expensive cost of $208.28 because we wanted a comfortable place to stay for the rest of the night with our 8 week old puppy. The location of the Kittle house is very dark and located at the end of a long, poorly-lit road. When we arrived the first thing I asked was where was the designated pet comfort location so I could put our puppy down so she could pee and poo. I asked several people who worked at the restaurant and the lady who showed us to our room and they said just let her go in the gravel as there was no grassy area that is designated for pets. How can you have a pet-friendly hotel with no area for the dogs to relieve themselves?

We were in for another surprise when we entered our room. The bathroom was dirty, hairs on the sink and in the tub and the sheets didn't appear to be very clean. It was after 9pm at that point so we didn't know what else to do, as the hotel office was closed, so we unpacked and tried settle down and go to sleep. I believe we were in Room C and the room next to us there was a big dog who kept barking and then that made our puppy bark and cry. The walls were like paper and there was no way we could get any sleep. Finally after a couple of hours of the noise, we decided we had had enough. We packed up all of our stuff at 2am and left to drive to our home about 90 minutes away.

I am sending you this information because my wife and I are travel agents and are in the customer service business. We know how important it is to keep your reputation intact by standing by your recommendations and I want you to know about our experience at this hotel that was so highly reviewed on your website. We desperately wanted a good night's rest and some peace and quiet but this location (with their paper thin walls, unclean rooms and no pet-relief location) is definitely not pet friendly and I would not recommend that hotel and I thought that you would like to know.

    Great spot

The staff made me and my pup very welcome and even set up a special outside dining table for us so she didn’t have to stay in the room alone. Would definitely return.

    What A Nice Surprise!

Our expectations were exceeded. We booked through the app and shortly after received a personal call from the receptionist welcoming us and confirming the reservation. We checked in and discovered that they had a wonderful restaurant and had a DELICIOUS dinner. The wine list is extensive and the staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. We dined in the bar and sat next to the warm fire and enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean with antiques and oil paintings, the poster bed was very comfy. We were checking out and welcomed again to have a complimentary breakfast with rustic bread, fresh fruit and juice and yummy homemade granola, compliments to the chef! If you are looking for a charming bed and breakfast experience, this is a very nice place to stay and EAT!

    Room and breakfast

We booked for the same day in the afternoon, but the innkeeper was still able to accommodate us. Learned this is a new place, but the room was large, clean and convenient to the exit to take our dog out.
