  Great staff and location

  The staff at the Marina Beach motel was welcoming and sweet to our two small dogs. The room was clean and equipped with a full compliment of everything you need for a comfortable stay. The continental breakfast was fantastic with a large selection of healthy and fun foods.

  Lovely rooms

  Staff was so nice (especially are check-in agent Angel) and the rooms had great, newer decor. Nice breakfast and amenities, and they let me check-in super early. Only complaints would be that our room (#2) was a touch small and the walls a bit thin. In the morning I could easily hear the neighbors, but generally the area was quite quiet. So great to have a place willing to accommodate large dogs!

  Wonderful Stay!

  Marina Beach Motel is a charming place. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the location is perfect. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and were helpful in every way. We plan to stay here again any time we are in Santa Barbara. Highly recommend!

  Nice Dog-Friendly Hotel!

  This was my first experience staying at a dog friendly hotel and I loved my stay! Felt super welcomed by staff and everyone at Marina Beach Motel were very friendly! I also loved that the motel offered free bike rentals and complimentary breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and had a modern flare to the interior design! The room did feel a bit small but I didn’t need a lot of room. It was perfect for one night with my medium size dog. Thank you Marina Beach Motel for the amazing experience!

  Dog and her humans had a great time

  Turns out we arrived in Santa Barbara the weekend of a dog competition. LOTS of dogs in town (in addition to the locals). About half the guest rooms at the motel included at least one canine guest. Every one of them was treated like royalty and, of course, a motel full of « dog people » led to lots of pleasant breakfast conversations. Situated a block from the beach, it’s also just a 10 minute drive to Hendry’s off-leash beach, great for morning frolicking. The rooms are cozy but the A/C worked spectacularly, given there was a heat wave and even Santa Barbara got to over 90 degrees during the day.

  Lovely little place at a great location!

  The good: There was a designated potty spot right outside the property, a nice courtyard to hang out at, bikes for rent for free, and continental breakfast in the morning. The staff at check in were very friendly and they even provided some treats and poop bags for our pup when we checked in. The location was great, walking distance to the wharf and less than a 10 minute drive from the off leash dog beach. It was also much more quiet than we expected for a motel so we were able to relax in the rooms. The rooms were modern with a comfy bed, TV and very spacious shower.

  The bad: We thought it seemed clean, until we woke up with what looked like bed bug bites and found a toe nail clipping poking into us in the bed. We were only there for 2 nights so although gross, you get what you pay for.

  Overall our stay was enjoyable.

  Lovely lodging!

  Check-in was seamless and our quiet comfy room and great bed were just what we needed after a long day of driving. The sunny courtyard was a pleasant place to enjoy morning beverages and a terrific breakfast. All kinds of choices were available at the breakfast bar, which was very nice. The management kindly allowed us to leave our car in the lot while we walked along the beach before we left. We greatly appreciated that.

  Perfect

  We love staying here: half a block from the beach, comfortable rooms, simple but good breakfast, and the staff are very friendly. Plus during Covid that each room has a separate entrance and heat/air is a unit in each room (no central air system). Only suggestion: please get better coffee. Thanks. We’ll be back

  Great Location,

  We were very happy with our stay. Our room was very small, but okay for just one night. There was a refrigerator, but a microwave would have been nice to warm up carry-out food. Our dog was happy with the grass dog area. It is a short block to the ocean and a short walk to the wine tasting houses and restaurants in the funk zone. I would have liked to stay longer! Yes, we had to sign a form acknowledging that our dog would be crated and stay off the furniture, but who are we kidding? Our 10lb dog slept on her blanket on the chair, there was no room for a crate! Yes, there is a sign to keep dogs off the courtyard grass, that's a people area, you don't want it full of poop! Keep your dog quiet, clean up after your dog, and you'll enjoy this place.

  motel for a reason...

  Well, I had high hopes considering the reviews. Alas... this was NOT a dog friendly spot. The moment we arrived I saw “no dogs on grass” signs, and the when I checked in I had to sign a policy agreeing that when the dogs were in the room they we NOT allowed on the furniture and had to be crated. WTH???
  Our small room which was advertised as a King Bed... was not. It was smaller than a CA king (which we own) the sheets did y even cover the 2 of us. Pillows were as hard as rocks and the bed was super springy. I still have a backache 2 days later.
  We were on a rod trip for 2+ weeks and decided to take 1 extra night in Santa Barbara. The room size could barely fit our 2 pieces of luggage and 2 small puppies. VERY Claustrophobic

  Great Motel and Location

  We stayed here two nights and had a great experience. There were a lot of grassy areas around the motel to walk our dog. We rented their free bikes and rode them down the beach. The rooms are clean and hospitality is great. The location is perfect as it’s walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

  Great MOTEL

  I love this place!! the staff is super friendly and love the location. we walked to the beach and to the PIer. so much is in walking distance. They even offer free Bikes to ride and their continental breakfast is not bad. There are so many great hotels in Santa Barbara but I would definitely return to this one.

  I love this place...

  The location couldn't be better. Perfect for dog walking. The rooms are clean and beautiful. I have stayed there twice now. It's now my go-to place for a much needed escape from the desert!

  Charming motel in great location

  We stayed for one night with our large dog. Management was very welcoming to all of us and even offered dog treats. The room was meticulously clean and tastefully decorated with useful amenities, including bedside USB outlets. WiFi signal was good in the room. The location was great, within a block of the beach. The continental breakfast buffet was excellent for motel standards. There was ample green space to walk the dog nearby.
