  Property needs TLC

  The staff are so friendly and accommodating! Good location, good ground-floor room. However, the room itself was very dated and not well appointed. The toilet is probably original 1960, uses lots of water and won't stop flowing! This is a desert. You'd think housekeeping would alert maintenance and fix (or replace!). Disposable bathroom amenities and no recycling make me think they don't care about the environment. There's a small kitchen area with a sink, fridge and microwave, but ZERO utensils, plates, bowls, dish soap, sponge... nothing. People don't travel with those things, so it would be nice of them to provide. 5 bones for staff. 2 bones for the room. A little owner care would make this place very special.

  They had a nice big area for dogs near the pool. There is area nearby that is also great for dog walks.

  Beautiful setting

  We stayed in one of the casitas with a huge natural turf pet exercise area with waste kiosks just a few yards outside our door. Lots of trees and shrubbery. Pets are allowed on the terrace outside the on-site restaurant. The room was a little dated, but we loved the location, helpful staff, and how well they cater to pets.

  Stayed with two dogs for $25 each? That is excessive. They just spent the night, didn't eat the sheets.

  Nice tucked away property

  Highly recommend the lower level at this location! I was concerned with my pup’s paws since it was super hot outside, but everything was great once we got down to our room. The lower level is shielded from the sun so it was much cooler with shade. Our patio opened up to a nice courtyard with plenty of grass to walk around.

  Great stay

  Hotel is a few miles away from the I-10 freeway, so no freeway noise. Check-in staff was in training. Stayed 1 night as a layover to our final destination. Standard King room. Loved the tile floors for the pets. Didn't have an issue with my dog and cat constantly sniffing around the room and furniture as with the common carpeted hotel rooms from other establishments. Large grassy area for dogs. Very clean! Would stay again. Docked 1 bone for some torn curtains, unplugged bed lamp that I couldn't plug in since the outlet was behind the bed headboard. and no ice machine on the floor where the room was located.

  Beautiful hotel

  Beautiful hotel. The only issue is the shower was stopped and water didn't go down the drain. We had to get a new key and use a shower in a room upstairs.

  Not great

  We asked if our dog could join us in the restaurant and we were given permission to do so. Shortly after the Manager came over and stated our dog could not be in the restaurant. So we put our dog in our room with knowledge she would most likely bark would happen once I left her alone. She did. The people next door complained. The Manager came back to us in the restaurant and told us we had to do something with regards to the complaint. We left our meal (unfinished I might add). Once back in our room with our dog there was not a pip out of her. Needless to say there was no tip left for the restaurant personnel.

  Great experience

  Our casita had sliding door to yard area for dogs. We got in late so we had tacos and margaritas to go from Gringo’s on site. The breakfast spread was tasty. The employees were friendly. We had a great experience at La Posada.

  Great place to stay with the dog

  Even though the hotel is slightly outdated, it had a nice old feel. Great place to stay with your dog. Staff is amazing and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was awesome. Highly recommend this place!!!

  Cute hotel

  From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, it was an overall great experience. The room was spacious with enough room for the dogs to run around and each room has its own patio so your room door isn’t right next to your neighbors. They have a couple of really nice grassy areas for the dogs to use. It was also nice having an on site restaurant so we didn’t need to travel for dinner. Also, a hot buffet breakfast was included with the price of the stay. We would definitely stay again.

  Reasonable Rate

  Reasonable rate for an excellent room. We needed a last minute room and were able to secure one with my two XL dogs. Pet fee: $25/dog. Room was great. Included breakfast was great. Grounds were beautiful. Staff extremely courteous and helpful.

  Not A Resort

  This property is billed as a Resort and Lodge — it is not. The online pictures look great and justify paying the $350 nightly rate. We booked a 1 bedroom King “Suite” with a “kitchen”. The “suite” was a very small room with a tiny loveseat at the end of the bed. The kitchen had very few utensils, an old microwave & a dorm size refrigerator with a freezer that didn’t freeze & no dishwasher. The TV was small & at least 12 years old so that it didn’t have a guide & we had no idea what was on. The internet didn’t work in our room. We were told it was because they were “full” & many were using it!!?? It was, however, nice for the dogs because there was a large courtyard right outside our door to walk them. I do not recommend this place.

  Great way to end our trip to California

  So happy that our pooch led us to La Posada Lodge & Casitas. I tune into BringFido all the time while on the road. I never know where our roadtrips are going to end so I don't even schedule ahead of time. Loved loved loved this place and Sachiko just loved the grounds of La Posada. Can't say enough about the reception staff and the food/restaurant on site was delightful! Beautiful patio which Sachiko also loved (and of course some of the food that we allowed her to taste too!) Thank you!

  The location was on a busy road and the room was so quiet. My cat was afraid of the ceiling fan so he didn’t relax as well as I did.

  Very convenient

  This was a very comfortable place to stay. Right outside our casita was a beautiful large grassy area for our puppies to use for relief, with puppy poo bags (although we carry our own). However the best part was that my puppies were able to explore the area and get some exercise and external stimulation. They’re very small dogs and nobody took exception to their exploration, which I supervised closely, and I really appreciated that we were allowed this freedom.
  The location of La Posada is convenient to everything we wanted to do and the breakfast was unexpectedly wonderful. We would definitely stay here next time we visit Tucson.

  A Delightful Place!

  We are driving from CA to FL with two large beasts :) Sophie and Frankie. This is the first time we've traveled with them and our first hotel experience with them. I'm thinking, "dog hotels must be grungy.. I was so wrong!" This place is clean, has a lovely courtyard area for our doggie children to walk and potty and the rooms are adorable. We placed the water bowl in the shower - easy access and it all worked well. The restaurant is also yummy! They do room service. Totally recommend. Thank you BringFido!

  Great hotel for dogs and people

  Our stay although short was very good. the room was big and clean, we were on ground floor so it was an easy out for the dogs In addition when we learned while there that we had been exposed to someone with CV19, the hotel promptly refunded our prepaid next nights stay and we checked out contactless. I would recommend this hotel.

  Excellent for our needs

  This was our halfway point of out and back between Philly and Tuscon. We had our 2 dogs, one of which is a socially challenged Pittie and the second who is only 10lbs but is just perpetually angry.

  Anyway, we loved this place. Great areas for your pups to do their deal. Adjacent to a wash and walking path that are easily accessible with a little creativity.

  The room is fine for what it is. On the small side and amenities are a bit dated. That being said, we had a balcony with a great view. Lower rooms had patios which were also nice. This was huge for us.

  Staff was incredibly nice and COVID was followed everywhere I saw by staff and guests, which made the wife and I very comfortable.
  They served breakfast which was nice since most hotels are bailing for the time being. Very well done and staff were extremely conscious.
  Great location.

  This will become our home base when visiting our daughter and we look forward to staying again in the Spring.

  What A Fantastic Hotel

  This place is great and pet friendly. Our little casita backed up to some trees and greenery. It was beautiful. The little yard in the back is perfect for a quick pet potty break. It has a nice grassy area. There’s a nice restaurant on site and we had a lovely meal and wine. Our dog was very happy. He got to stretch out on the couch and chill with us. We really loved this place. It’s very charming and the staff was great. It’s worth driving a few extra minutes if you have a pet or not. The pet fee was more than most places ($25) but they accept big dogs and the lovely, large pet area was worth it.

  Lots of love for the pups!

  We stayed overnight in a casita on our way from Texas to California. It’s a little out of the way, but easy to find and no freeway noise! Staff is welcoming, helpful and the property had plenty of green areas where the dogs could roam - on leash of course - replete with clean up stations, too. Our casita had a small patio with a connecting yard which was great for late night nature calls. The area is fully enclosed but we did hear coyotes nearby at night so you definitely won’t leave your precious pups unattended. It’s an older property, well maintained and definitely dog-friendly!

  It was the perfect place for relaxing during our long road trip to Texas. Big grassy area for dogs, and they let us bring our dog to breakfast on their patio! Our dog enjoyed her stay with us on the king size bed with the tv in front. 👌🏼 Highly recommend this place!

  The BEST!

  La Posada Lodge is the best hotel I've found on BringFido. It is a great place to spend a night with your pet dogif you are traveling through Tucson.

  The facility is far more elegant than your typical roadside motel. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable. The lobby is spacious and well decorated in a Southwest theme. There are numerous up-scale amenities. The "ground floor" (which is actually the 'second floor" since the "first floor" opens out onto a lower veranda area) has lots of grass available for dog walking. (You could probably venture onto the adjacent 18-hole golf course if you wished.)

  The hotel has an excellent restaurant on premises, the Gringo, which is decorated with a lot of fun southwest-themed art. The menu us varied and interesting, and they have an interesting assortment of wines available, including a really nice Chardonnay from Baja California. (Really!). The food is excellent. The breakfast buffet is a lot better than what you typically see in a freeway-adjacent motel, because the food is actually cooked on premises rather than being prepared in a factory somewhere and warmed on-site.

  La Posada is not right on the I-10 freeway, but it is more than worth the few minutes' drive from a freeway exit to get there.

  I will plan future trips through the Southwest so that I can have another opportunity to stay here. Absolutely first-rate. Excellent quality and an excellent value.
