  Very helpful staff

  Happy with my stay. Nice hotel and very helpful staff. Was given a late checkout time because of car issues. I was very thankful for that. The only downside is there were no dog poop stations, so the poop bags went into the only trash can outside the front door.

  Updated rooms at good price

  We needed a room for the night in our travels. Have large 65 pound dog. Is about 13 miles outside of Sacto but decided the reviews were good and pricing was reasonable. Only charged $10 for our dog. Room was clean and looked updated and had everything we needed. Small grassy areas by parking lot were fine for walking dog. The Brookside restaurant was across parking lot and was surprisingly good and very reasonable in price. Would stay there again.

  Great stay

  Check-in was smooth. Room was spacious for our pit bull. Didn't like how small the bathroom was but everything else was fine. It's right by a main road, so there's lots of noise and cars speeding by. Our dog has a bit of anxiety so that kept her up for a bit. Small grassy area around the hotel made it convenient. They allow your dog to stay in the room if behaved or crated. A restaurant is right across the parking lot. Overall, nice place and recommended.

  Nice clean hotel

  Great price ($110) for a king bed mini suite with a couch. No real restrictions given for pets when I checked in. The host was kind to me and my dog. There are no ground floor rooms I don't think. There are 2 elevators though. There is a stairwell but was unsure if it was emergency only. Given it's in the middle of a parking lot that borders other businesses it was well lit and there were grassy areas around the property that were clean although no outside area specific for dogs with a sign or poop trash can.

  The exterior doors require a room key to get in after 11pm which is nice. Can't fault the hotel for the people above me for some reason running up and down their room and sounding like they were moving furniture until 2am. Rest of the room/floor was quiet. The rooms are long so you're far away from the door to the interior hall. Was worth the extra $20 (which could have been $10 for a smaller room) compared to the Extended Stay 1 exit away.

  Nice and clean, good breakfast banquet. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Next time I’m in Folsom I’ll definitely stay here with my dogs.

  Nice visit

  I was concerned about staying here based on many negative reviews but I'm glad I came anyway. The location was convenient for our visit to see family, and everything went fine. Clean, quiet, lots of safe parking, pleasant staff. There didn't seem to be anything special for the dogs, not even a mention at check in, no poop bags outside, no place to walk them. But there were some grassy areas in the strip mall next door that served our purposes.

  It was fine

  I don’t have a lot of complaints. It was really noisy (woken up by a truck backing up at 4-5amish), the shower was old and had mold stains (I hope just stains) down at the bottom, and there was a smell that neither one of us could quite place. The elevator smelled strongly of cleanser through our masks, and our floor smelled strongly of weed. They only provided 1 roll of half used toilet paper in the room. However, location was exactly what we needed, bed was comfortable enough, room was old but pretty clean, staff was friendly (to human and dog), plenty of grass out front, and the restaurant across the street was tasty and a nice amenity. Generally it was fine, but we were left feeling like we spent too much for what we got. If you’re in the area, I don’t steer you away, but if you’re hoping for a really nice hotel, you won’t find it here. If you can, I’d splurge for the pet fee at one of the nicer places in the area, if you’re going to be staying more than one night.

  Friendly staff, clean hotel

  Nothing special but it was clean, comfortable, and friendly. Not a lot of grassy area but walkable to restaurant and Starbucks. Dog can be left unattended in this hotel.

  Sooooo close

  The hotel staff was nice. Restaurant in the parking lot was good and reasonable. There were a lot of well managed dogs in the hotel. All in all, positive experience. So, why only 3 stars?

  1. Environment outside the building wasn’t very dog friendly. Only a parking island for grass, and in 118 weather (not joking), we needed more than pavement and dirt. Plus, there was a lot of homeless and quite a few tweaker in the area, and I was always concerned about my dogs safety when I could see where they were stepping or what they were smelling. That being said, I left items in my truck bed and not once did anyone mess with it.

  2. The elevators smelled terrible, and our floor ALWAYS smelled like shrimp, I don’t even know how it could smell so bad, but air freshener in our room did the job.

  3. COVID. I know they are doing they’re best to be safe. But, the CDC has lifted most recommendations at this point. At some point, the hotel industry will have to go back to cleaning rooms, right? Not only did they not clean the rooms automatically, but you can ask for it special, as long as you do it two days ahead of time. Now, they say you have to request it by 7pm the day before, but I did, and they came two days later, and didn’t take out the trash… Oh, and they still have a weird table buffer system for check in and no breakfast. I feel like if the price includes housekeeping and breakfast, shouldn’t we be getting a discount?

  All in all, I’d go there again, and I’d hope to see improvements.

  Worked great for us

  We've stayed at this location a couple of times; it's near our family in that area. We've always had clean, comfortable rooms, and they seem to be very welcoming to our dogs, at no additional charge. Although we haven't done this when we've stayed, we appreciate that pets are allowed to be left in guest rooms unattended. Sometimes the Sacramento area summer temperatures are just too hot to chance having a pet inside a parked car, even briefly. We would definitely stay here again.

  Room was clean BBC and comfortable. Stayed a week. Even though no housekeeping service available they were very accommodating giving us coffee and fresh towels everyday. Due to the Covid no breakfast buffet but I feel they could have at least offered a pre packaged pastry or muffin.

  Checked all the boxes.

  The staff was welcoming, attentive and polite. They had no problem with our very large lab.
  There are nice grassy areas with waste bags provided. Do use caution while walking your dog for the resident rooster. It doesn’t seem like the kind of area where you would encounter one but he apparently has seniority in the area and isn’t relinquishing it. He is quite a beautiful bird though.
  The room was well appointed, clean and tastefully decorated.
  The restaurant (can’t recall the name) in the same parking lot is good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
  The American River is close by for some hiking and exploring. The Sailor Bar area of the river is especially nice.
  Overall a great place to stay in a great location to explore from. Would definitely come back and recommend it to friends and family.

  Good place for the dogs

  The La Quinta Inn did very well by our dogs, although there's not much in the parking lots around it by way of grassy areas-- our dogs didn't mind relieving themselves on the gravel islands, though, so that part still worked well. I was a little disappointed that, unlike many other motels, they didn't include any kind of breakfast with the room charge, but since we mostly needed a place that would let us bring our dogs (and there aren't many of those), it was a good experience.

  Not a lot of grass for potty time. Everyone was super friendly and the room was good for the price. 1 of the 2 elevators was broken down for most of our visit. The restaurant across the parking lot was dog friendly with great food.

  Not a lot of grass for our dogs. Most of the surrounding landscape was a concrete parking lot. Couldn't find a "relief" area for pets.

  Great stay!

  Found this place on our way up to Oregon for the holidays. Hotel was nice, plenty of parking and check-in was quick. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and most importantly the heater worked. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, we were satisfied. Our dog was comfortable though he was scared of the elevator. Some reviews mentioned the back parking lot being unsafe, seemed fine to us but we were only th there for one night. We would stay here again.
