Easy check in and no extra charge for the dog. The room was comfortable, but not super clean. The couch had visible dark stains - coffee?? The hotel really didn’t have a pet relief area except for a couple of gravel patches at the back corner past the employee parking. And there was no close place to walk the dog. Also, hotel restaurant & bar is only open on weekends ( if at all). Was ok for a one night stay. Make sure you have flashlight if you have to take the dog out overnight to pee because there is barely any light in the relief area.

Our stay at Hilton Mission Valley was..fine. The hotel was clean and we felt like all the staff and guests were respectiful of COVID precaution - everything was clean and sanitized and guests were respectful of elevator use and socially distancing themselves from others. Regarding our dog, there was no special dog service or attention given to us or our room - no bed or water bowl or treats or anything that I know some other hotels offer. There were plenty of dogs staying at the hotel so maybe it's something they'd like to consider. Their allocated area outside for doggie potty breaks was small, rocky, and dirty with past poopies. Their poop bag dispenser was also empty.
Location of the hotel was good, near the famous 'hotel circle' area of San Diego, easy freeway access, easy to get around to the different neighborhoods of SD, but nothing fancy or fun to look at.
Rooms had thing walls, we'd hear everyone in the hallway, and since we were right behind the elevator bank we could hear those running all day and night.
Overall, a very satisfactory stay but for future trips I'd probably look to stay somewhere else.
