        Accommodating

In practical terms, this is a good place to stay: comfortable, clean, and owners are very accommodating and friendly.

The room interior needs updating from the 80s/90s but everything you needed was there and was clean.

The neighborhood is in a state of revival with construction on the side of the hotel. The Hyatt is only a block away so this part of Santa Cruz is improving. The parking lot was very well lit (like daytime lit) so I felt safe when I took my pup for his evening poop.

Shower water pressure was strong, jet tub was great.

Breakfast consist of free pastries, coffee, OJ and apple juice.

Overall, it is a good and practical place to stay - I would come back.

        not like the pictures

First, it is great that they are dog friendly, made it very easy for us to take our dogs.
However, it's not the cleanest hotel, it's located in a very very rough neighborhood, makes you very uneasy walking outside.

        THIEVES!

I was surprised with an extra $30 charge on my credit card a week after checking out. I called them and was told it was because we took all the blankets and pillows from the room. Um, no, we did not. They won't refund the charge because "we have to go by what our maids tell us" so I'm disputing with my bank. Unbelievably shady. Our room was right across from the Office, they watched us leaving, and the maids were in there while we were checking out. Wanna lose your money and risk your credit card number? Stay here. But I'd advise against it.

Dump! I agree with Jim... True Dump

The Pacific Inn in Santa Cruz is truly one of the dirtiest and most rundown places I have ever stayed in 30 + years of traveling the world.. I kid you not.

I left feeling that it was the worst value I have gotten from any consumer purchase I have made that I can recall anyhow..300.00 for a pit..
I cannot fathom how anyone would rate this highly. Really can't.

We were booked for 2 nights and left after 1... We just could not stay there, Dog Friendly or not.
Broken Window, that wouldn't close or open.
Low Rent plywood slum across the driveway with no fence or trees....loud...

Carpet was as bad as you'll ever see, bathroom was peeling paint over the "tile", moldy floor peeling up, broken worn out toilet seat.. broken door knob..
Didnt see any bugs.. so that was a plus...

Toilet wouldn't stop running after the flush.. I lifted the skanky lid and a washcloth and one of the bottles of shampoo was in there stuck under the flapper..
When we left asking for a refund the Management was even tempered and not unreasonable.. so credit for that.....The Breakfast was a card table sized spot in the small office with donuts, toast and fair coffee..
Didn't partake..I'll post photos in the Hotel section...

        Flees

We stayed here. The staff was friendly, but... My dog dot flees. Never ever have I had a flee problem.. The room was kind of gross. Cigarette burns on the carpet. Pool area was ok, paint was coming off of the ground. Ghetto apartments on all sides of this place. And a homeless couple handing around outside on the stairs and the lady was on something! We left right away in the morning.

DUMP- Do not waste your money or time

This is a DUMP. BAD area of town, little to no place to walk the dog, dirty, and overpriced. YUCK!!!

if you love your pet, don't come here

It was dirty, in a horrible area (you don't want to take you dog out to poo). Gave us the wrong room first, the them there were no towels in our room. When I asked for some. The maid said the only ones she had were stained but clean! Don't recommend it at all!!!

        Pacific Inn - December

Stayed at Pacific inn last week and was not impressed. Learned a lesson to stay on the west side next time since Pacific Inn is surrounded by drug deals taking place in the parking lot and not so friendly looking neighbors in the slum apartments next store to the hotel. Location is similar to compton so would not recommend walking around at night.

        Our stay in Santa Cruz

We had a great stay in Santa Cruz. The Guesthouse Inn and their staff treated us and our two dogs wonderfully. We had numerous visits to the dog beach and even found a resturant on the wharf in Montery; named Gilberts which more than welcomed our two friends. Great trip and wonderful time had by all. Thank you!!!

        Love Santa Cruz

We had a great time, went to the dog beach twice, and loved our typical little California hotel room!

        Enjoyed Our Stay

We enjoyed our stay and the rooms were very clean. My two grandchildren really liked the breakfast in the morning. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We would stay there again.

        Pet Friendly!

This February will be our 2nd stay at The Guesthouse Pacific Inn. Our 1st stay was absolutely wonderful. Very accomodating staff. Very Dog friendly hotel. Owner suggested going to the doggie beach and to the restaurant that you can take your dog as well. Pleasant experience

        Great hotel! Very clean!

The Pacific Inn was great! I was very nervous about it because I saw some horrible reviews after I had already made my reservation, but those reviews were wrong...this is a great place!! It is NOT fancy or plush, but it is very clean, and very cute, and has AMAZING customer service. Also, the owner is an incredible human being who is really making a difference in the community, and I love putting my money into places like this. It is just a 5 minute drive to the doggie beaches from the hotel, and very dog friendly. All in all, a GREAT EXPERIENCE!! Thank you to the BringFido site...what a great idea this was; it really helped me find somewhere where I could go and take the kids. Thanks again,
Andrea (human), Sherman (canine,) and Sasha (canine.) :)
