  Horrible experience

  Booked 4 nights. Arrived at 2am. First impressions of hotel was gross. Outside before entering room there was peeling wall paint and doors, full garbage bags piled next to garbage cans, and trash all over property. Once we entered the hotel room we were confronted with stains all over the sheets/towels, mold in shower tile/tub, peeling ceiling, and what looked like makeup stains all over sink.

  We immediately went to front office and asked for clean sheets. The guy shrugged his shoulders and said he had nothing available until the morning crew arrived to do laundry. Instead he moved us to a new room. The new room was exactly like the first, plus we had no latches on door for security. Due to it being so late, nearly 3am dealing with everything and moving luggage to new room we had no choice but to stay the night and try and get some rest.

  We were then woken up by a man banging on our door at 8am talking about fixing our leaky faucet in the bathroom. Needless to say, we had car loaded up by early afternoon and turning in our keys with no refund for the 3 nights we left early on. You would have to pay me to stay at this location ever again.

  Disgusting

  We checked in and our room was filthy. The bedspread had stains and visible dirt marks on both beds. When I called down to report it the front desk, he just said, okay I will make a note for you not to be charged for that. We were staying in a dog friendly room, but stained bedsheets and comforter should not be the norm. Also, our dogs were going crazy finding things all over the floor, obviously indicating the flooring was not properly vacuumed. The shower pressure was good but I had to scrunch down to fit under the shower head and I am 5’4”. The shower wall tile grout had visible mold. If you are reading this, take it to heart. You get what you pay for. We paid $87 and I guess that’s for a disgusting not restful night because I felt like the place was not clean and could be infested with bed bugs.

  Central location for my needs

  Being on the ground floor and having an outside entrance to my room. Older facility but clean an comfortable. Would stay there again.

  Disgustingly Dirty

  The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in days or weeks, the bottom of the bathtub was a dingy brownish gray and there was mold between the shower tiles. I wouldn't let a dog stay there, let alone humans.

  This Place is a Dump

  We have stayed in many La Quintas due yo affordability and dog-friendliness. This was the worst one ever. First, it looks very little like it does in the pictures. The exterior is run down - paint peeling, rusting metal, uneven walkways. Both of our rooms smelled (one was so smoky we had to ask for another), the other like stale farts, especially when the air conditioner came on. The bathrooms were moldy and the shower switched from hot to cold every few minutes. The exterior smelled like garbage due to the bags that were piled up at the bottom of the stairs.

  My elderly father got stuck in the elevator (we asked for a first floor room but were told none were available) between floors for several minutes. The elevator then dropped back down to the first floor and he was forced to take the steps. The "breakfast bar" was a joke (and I wouldn't have dared eaten it). The only reason we stayed is that we couldn't get a refund and it was difficult to find another place to stay (due to CU and Denver football games this weekend). Never ever will stay again.

  Smelly and not clean

  I didn’t notice the room was smelly but my husband did; I probably didn’t notice it because the lobby area smelled worse. The room was dirty (my husband refused to sleep under the sheets), the toilet ran all night, and the hotel was super dirty. Will definitely not stay here again.

  Horrible

  I would remove this location or warn others about it. Awful, horrible and disgusting. Rooms were dirty, bathroom was not clean, carpet was coming off, stains everywhere. The elevator and vending machine close to our room were both broken. Trash bags full of garbage were sitting outside of rooms. Front desk staff had no personality and when asked where our room was located, he said look at the map in a rude tone. Horrible experience!

  Run down and dirty room

  Hotel is very run down. Bathroom was clearly not cleaned, had hair all over shower walls, bathtub and toilet. Breakfast was decent.

  Surprised

  We were pleasantly surprised with our stay. the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nicer than expected. The areas for dog walking were adequate but, I just wished that owners were more responsible picking up waste. Watch your step!

  Not clean

  Stayed for a dog show nearby as recommended. First impression of the room was okay but dated. Unfortunately the carpets were dirty and obviously not hoovered. My dog picked up an m&m and some other things. There was a plastic wrapper on the floor by the bed. Front door was filthy on the inside.

  The bathroom was tiny and had mold on the walls, probably due to no working fan for the shower. The bed itself was clean and comfortable but some pillows provided were lumpy. I refused to unpack my suitcase as the drawers were dirty inside. From a safety stand point the deadbolt for the door did not work, as I’m travelling on my own that is not a great thing.

  Right off the highway

  I grew up pretty much next to this hotel. It's become so run down. I understand they are understaffed but we were out of toilet paper. And when we asked the front desk, they said they only had one to offer. Just felt dirty. Sheets had nail polish or lip gloss stains. Towels dirty-ish. Coffee splatter on walls. It's nice that it is dog friendly and the woman at the desk was great, but we will not be staying here again. Seemed like some shady stuff was going on; weird guy walking around wanting to pet our dog.

  Decent motel

  This is a 3 story motel with outside walkways and elevator. The room and property was clean, but a bit "tired." There are grassy areas around the parking lot for dog walking. The staff was pet friendly and I saw more dogs staying there than I have at any other motel I've ever stayed at.

  We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. Didn't really take advantage of too many amenities due to time. Close to Interstate 75.

  Nice dog-walking areas

  We stayed two nights at this La Quinta. Our room was quiet, the neighborhood was nice, especially for being so close to the freeway. The pool was crystal clear and inviting (we did not swim). All the grounds beyond the parking lot were well-manicured with grass lawn, shrubbery, trees and reeds. The designated pet area had a trash can with poop bags provided. In other grass areas there was enough poop piles that one had to watch his step; not La Quinta's fault as people are rude pigs. All the dogs we saw were leashed and controlled.

  Our room had a comfortable bed, the water pressure was good, TV service was basic but had a channel for Netflix so we could sign in with our account, the toilet seat was wobbly, the AC was a little noisy but not bad. The lobby and breakfast area was very pleasant and the breakfast offerings were pretty good; waffles (the only hot item), yogurt, cheese, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels and bread with a toaster, oatmeal, fruit, cereal/milk, coffee, juices. The staff was also all very nice and helpful.

  There was no pet fee, which was nice, but the beds were dirty with stains all over the sheets and comforters.

  Umm, not what I expect from LQ

  Okay, i realize prices fluctuate from day to day and I'll admit I made my reservation only a week before so I was charged just shy of $200 for one night. I really don't mind paying $200 a night, but it better be a superior hotel for that price. This was NOT. The room was small, but adequate. It is an older hotel with outdoor hallways. I was staying there for a dog show and one thing I really need, other than a clean bed, is a fridge for the dog treats. My room did not have one. The beds seemed clean, but the floor in the bathroom had hair and some sort of residue on it that I wiped down before letting the dogs in there. The shower curtain had quite a bit of mold/mildew on it. I've stayed at LQ many times in the past as it is almost always my "go to" hotel when I'm traveling with my pups, and have always been pleased, but not this time. The only plus is that the beds did seem clean, but that's a really low bar for $200/night in the outskirts of Denver. Sad, because I was really hoping for a nice hotel in that area for frequent visits.

  Did a recent staycation at an old favorite! Since the last time we were here with our dog, there’s been a lot of new construction. It’s louder than before but still clean and comfortable.

  Not for solo female travelers

  I obviously didn't read enough of the reviews. The location and price were good and the reviews I read were positive, but I checked in and left an hour later to find a safer hotel. Lots of sketchy people just hanging out, lurking outside my room, smoking, watching my coming and going. Pretty sure I saw a dog fight in the parking lot. The hotel itself was old but fairly clean and the staff was friendly. If you're not traveling alone, it's tolerable for a one night stop. But if you're alone, go somewhere else.

  If you need just a quick stay with your animals, La Quinta is great. The only issue was had was that there were construction workers outside our door that were a little loud and rowdy and our dogs are Shih Tzus so they tend to be protective and will bark if they feel our area is being invaded. I called the front desk and they took care of it right away. It is close to two restaurants and a convenience store and plenty of areas to walk your furbabies. So that was a plus. Rooms a little on the small side but for this being the first time we brought our animals to a hotel, it wasn’t bad at all.

  Awesome Room

  i got a king room with a great rate, and the staff was all very helpful. big area for doggy walking too. the only thing that bothered me was the sketchy people that were around.

  Great Stay!

  I booked hoping the bad reviews were wrong, we were very pleased with our stay! Love that it was motel style and we could just walk outside with our pups. Very clean and well maintained. Perfect for a one night stay!

  Drive past and find another place to stay.

  Stayed at other La Quintas and were very satisfied. This one wasn’t very clean. It felt like the bottom of the tub/shower was going to fall out, not stable. Woke up to a room full of ants that covered anything that was left on the floor. Fortunately most of our luggage was off of the floor. I wiped up most of the ants with wet towels, shook them out and left them outside the door. I told the manager and her response was indifferent. Unfortunate experience...

  What a let down

  Rooms average. Old motel style with the room door to the exterior. More dog poop on the property than there were blades of grass- not even safe on the sidewalk. My advice: Pay extra for a different hotel.

  Nice place with one major exception

  Maybe it was an anomaly, but we had no hot water -- which made for a miserable shower after a long day. Otherwise, it was a great room at a reasonable price.

  Comfortable Room and Good Breakfast

  Our room was very comfortable. Good breakfast. The outside is dated and old, but what matters is the rooms and breakfast food offered. No dog fee is a huge plus.

  Nice hotel

  This was a nice hotel for the price. The view from our room was gorgeous, overlooking the rocky mountains. Lots of construction going on around the building, but it was all done at a decent hour. The pet area was small, but a little more secluded than others that we have been to, which made it easier on my dog. Theres an amazing custard place next door that sells "pawbenders". That made the entire stay worth it for us!

  Dirty run down dump

  This was far and away the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. At night, multiple people loitering around the filthy property, smoking at this “non-smoking” hotel. There are multiple pet areas, which is awesome, but two of them were littered with trash and dog waste. The entire hotel is right off the freeway, very noisy at all hours with truck traffic, outdoors, and feels unsafe. The one luggage rack on the property is absolutely unusable, there were multiple areas where the exterior paint needs to be redone. Oh, and did I mention there is NO HOT WATER? After a loud miserable stay, I had to take a cold shower. Filthy, run down, miserable stay. But reasonable if you have pets. Next time I would pay more and stay literally anywhere else in Denver. This was a nightmare. The La Quinta in Albuquerque is nicer, indoors, cleaner, better customer service, and much more dog friendly. So it is not related to the La Quinta brand... it’s just this specific location that needs to be mowed down and rebuilt from scratch.

  Motel Accommodations

  I found this hotel to be very unclean. I booked a double queen bed room (the lowest rate listed here) and was given the option of either the second or third floor upon check in. Since the hallways are exterior, I thought it best - for noise - to be on the third. If your dog doesn’t like to hear noise, this was a good option, as the parking lot was very busy on the first floor, with the exterior hallways. For some reason, many hotel guests were hanging out in the halls this evening.

  They do allow you to leave a crated dog in the room alone, which worked out well for me to take the quick drive to Red Rocks. You can’t beat the location to this venue. While others have touted the proximity to a Denny’s and gas station, it wasn’t a perk for me. The grounds still remain torn up and under construction. It is right off the highway, and two semi truck cabs parked adjacent to the hotel lot overnight. Just expect a motel vibe.

  The mattress was VERY old and there was a lot of hair on the mattress cover (I looked under the linen on this one). The linens were old and worn - beginning to lose their white color.

  The coffee maker in the room was not clean. They provided shampoo only, no conditioner or lotion. Wear shoes, as the carpet was sticky! I didn’t set the bar too high, but they did not meet my expectations.

  How awesome is this?? Not pet fee no size restrictions and a dog custard place next store!!! And to top it all off just 4 miles to red rocks!!

  Clean, Renovated on Inside

  Our beginning plans was to stay in Denver, Co, preferably at a La Quinta, but reviews were not good. Drove a little more to Denver,Co to make sure we were staying in a clean, dog friendly area since we are traveling with a goldendoodle. From the outside, it might seem old and outdated but they have renovated the inside. Also, side note. This is an outside hotel, I always feel skeptical of outside hotels but this one felt safe and it was easier for us due to having a dog. The front desk recommended us to stay in first floor so it’s easy access to take our dog outside to use the bathroom. The inside room was spotless, and I was very pleased with this hotel. There is a Denny’s and a gas station close by! Also, a pet smart located 5 min down the road if you need to stop to stock up on anything you might need for your dog! It was a lifesaver for us!

  The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. No issues with the two dogs.
  There is construction going on around the hotel limited some of the places to walk a dog, otherwise there is ample space. Ask for a courtyard room, no road noise at all.
